Anyone using one? I have a Tile Pro bluetooth tracker for my cat. It's pretty decent, i does not require any charging (it works for perhaps a year or something), cheap + also super small in comparison to the GPS trackers i've seen. Range is around 200 ft so you do need to walk around until whatever you're tracking is in range.

Anyone know of any decent GPS pet trackers with long battery life (a week or so?) maybe it's not possible yet for that long battery life with GPS?

Looking for a good one myself. The smallest and cheapest ones from china seem decent, but... what you pay for is what you get pretty often :/ Has to be comfortable for the cat to wear too...

You could get two sizes. One that fits you and a smaller one for the cat I suppose...

yeah, i don't like those big boxes.. it seems like even the larger ones have very limited battery, meh... i guess a bluetooth tracker is still the best option.

yesterday he was gone for 10h (never happens), took my e-bike and put the mobile on the bike where i could see it.. found him after less than 25 mins. i think some of the mean cats here had scared him away.

Bought a GPS one, tried it for 2 weeks now. It's really great, has satellite photo as well as normal map. He traverses far longer than i had imagined, mostly to forested areas but also went over a large road and was near and on a railway, which obviously isn't very good.. only seen him go there once though.

Fucking expensive shit though, the tracker had an ok price but then you also need a subscription which is like 100 euro a year.

clothes makes sense on some breeds in the winter and if really cold, otherwise its just retarded.. mine is a mix of maine coon and norwegian forest cat so it even enjoys somewhat cold weather (-3 isn't a problem, colder than that and i think he prefers the indoors).

we had 3 cats missing, 2 got hit by a car, one just never came back, probably also hit by a car.
so a tracker ain't bad if you want to know where he is, if he is gone for 1, 2 days or even longer.

Not necessary for my two shared cats (they're "owned" by different neighbors but they're here most of the time, people taking an animal without a single care in the world ). One is fat as fuck and only walks between my house and the neighbor. The other strolls around more (is also much younger) but he's even scared of his own shadow, so that's not too bad I guess. He does like to take a walk with me through town Laughing

That being said, I wouldn't buy a China brand tracker, 99% of that is just crap and can be thrown away after few weeks of use

Nothing wrong with clothes on a pet by the way. Some breeds are really cold, they're just not built for the environment they live in. I've seen enough shivering dogs and cats.

Here in Sweden there is just one tracker available that you can get a GPS subscription with, at least i could just find this one brand... cheap china ones, i don't think they're GPS, its probably blue tooth. already got a good one, the tile pro tracker.. GPS is better though.

yes clothes makes sense for all animals with little hair/fur and if they're in a cold environment. some people seems to think people only put clothes on animals because its funny, its not always the case obviously.

mine only goes out late in the night or very late evening, very few cars around even on the big road, but it's still a bit scary when he takes longer adventures. i'm mentally prepared something might happen one day, and i rather have that than a rather unhappy cat for the rest of his life. I give him the opportunity to have a good life with exercise, adventure and safety indoors when he wants it.
