|
 |
Hello again,
Looking for some recommendations regarding wireless headphones for my PS5. Also would like them to be able to connect to my PC / OLED Tv (wirelessly as well).
Currently using a pair of Sennheisers 599 HD (plugged into the controller) and on PC in my FIIO e10 (think it was) which sound great but are wired.
Looking for comfort / compatibility between all the devices and good sound. Dont care bout mic or noise cancellation.
Budget would be around 250E max.
Any recommendations are welcome. Thank you.
Main PC : I7 12700, MSI Ventus RTX 4090 24gb, Alienware AW3423DW QD-OLED
Laptop : I5 4200H @ 3400mhz boost, GTX 850m 2gb Vram DDR3, 4gb RAM DDR3
Derpsole : Playstation 5 disc edition, Ninty Switcherino
TV+audio: LG CX 65" / Sonos ARC + SL ones + Sonos sub 3
VR Headset: Meta quest 2 airlinked

I like my Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless.
Pro's: Works with 2.4GHz wireless lossless connection to the base station that you can connect via USB to PC, PS4 etc. Also supports BT connection to my TV or any other device. You can actually have a BT and wireless connection at the same time. The audio quality is really nice. And the battery life is virtually unlimited as you can switch the batteries quickly and one is always in the base station charging (and I'm 100% sure that these are the exact same batteries that I put into my various Nokia phones like 3650, 3660, 6630 etc. )
Neg's: There is a slight hiss when the 2.4GHz connection is active. Arctic claim it's because they have the best drivers, but... why do they hiss then?
Anyhow, according to rtings they are still #1: https://www.rtings.com/headphones/reviews/best/wireless-gaming-headsets
Pricewise they are always around 300€, but they seem to be regularly available ~250€

Momentum 3 Wireless, if you can find them at a good price.
Normally, I wouldn’t recommend a wireless headphone. They are limited by low bandwidth.
Sennheiser also has radio-powered headphones, which, at the higher end, offer similar fidelity to their higher end consumer headphones (like the 599s), but those are expensive.

@pumpaction
Sadly, the pro i can only find at 350E cheapest.
Think i'll go with arctis 9 (ps5 / pc compat). Picking them up tonight.
The sound isnt as good as the pro series (treble kinda sucks looking at rtings), but mostly same thing.
I'll try these out see how they fare, if not i'll just return them and wait some more.
@LeoNatan
I know about the bandwith and that they won't compare to my hd599s, still wanted to have a wireless option too for convinience and also tv / console gaming in which case wired would be too much trouble.
Thought about the momentum, didn't like the leather cushion cause of getting hot during the summer etc. Also the only store that had them is a minus because of not being able to return them. Liked everything else about them.
I also looked at the RS series from Sennheiser which are also quite cheap compared to what they should be (the rs195 is 250E) but didnt like being limited to that "station" only.
Will see how these sound and if they'll disappoint i'll prolly return and go for some of those sennheisers.
Thanks for the input tho guys. Appreciate it.

Well got em, im both happy and not happy with them. Pumpaction if you happen to know. Can you use your headset settings if you save them on pc ( eq) and the ps5 will use the same ( with dongle ofc plugged into ps5 after ).Or do those settings in steelseries engine only are used on pc. I’m reading conflicting reporte, will test out myself later today.
Also, seems like i also need a bluetooth transmitter for my oled. Fuckers keep doing this with tvs and its annoying ( sound can break up for a fraction of a sec from time to time, reading about it, most people got issues with wireless headphones connected to tvs via bluetooth so they end up buying a transmitter).
I find it annoying how these can sound pretty good on pc with the proper eq settings while without ( via bluetooth ) they sound pretty meh. Why couldnt they make the eq work while using any device ffs?
So yeah unsure for now but prolly gonna keep them.

LG has built in bluetooth for headphones, so you don't need a dongle. Be aware you can't use the TV's gaming mode when using bluetooth nheadphones, so it's useless for gaming.

Pff unfortunately the base station on my arctis wireless pro just died. Fucker would throw USB issues for the last few weeks and just turned off the other day to not come back Luckily I'll most likely get a refund but this left such a sour taste in my mouth that I'll try a different brand. Just ordered the Logitech G Pro X Lightspeed.

my recommendation is to get CABLE
wireless communication is fuzzy and slower (as in delay in time not speed) because of interference (packet loss) and software overhead, especially BT, less Wi-Fi

I'd never go for a BT only headset, but I need wireless because I have these on my head for ~10 hours a day and I have to walk around during those meetings or I'll go insane...
I already miss the ability to connect to BT and I guess these don't have cross mixing

Id myself avoid BT headphones for PC or gaming. Very few support stereo sound AND a mic at the same time (Bluetooth with AptX). And those that do sound...not good. Would not say bad, but its clearly limiting the bandwidth for stereo to have the mic option.

I use sony pulse 3d. Fantastic sound quality and comfort.
Work perfectly fine on pc. It's 2,4ghz dongle so no Bluetooth lag or anything. Mic works too.
But if You wantsomething to connect directly to TV and not console/pc, then these don't have BT.
