NFOrce.nl is created for people like you, the members. It's great to see that lots of people come here on a daily basis to check out what is happening in the scene or to participate in this community.

Therefor your opinion is important to us, because if we know what you would like to see improved on this board we can go from that and make this board even better.

We (the team) would like to know your opinion on the following question:

What do you think of the moderation on the forums?

- Are the moderators too strict?
- Has the board improved since we started to enforce the rules more?
- Are there enough moderators or are there too much?
- should the rules be a bit less strict?

I don't ask you to gives names, just your opinion in general. This could give us (the team) an idea of how you guys are experiencing the moderation. The more input the better.

Tnx in advance for your opinion.
P.S.: I'm not talking about the main site, just the forums. Exclamation

Agree on the new mods, when you have a forum with a large number of members online 24/7 you need mods (atleast a couple) about all the time.

Other than that, would be great if some of the flaming resulted in bans, it gets annoying seeing the same people being prats all the time.

Are the moderators too strict?
not at all, it depends on the moderator, but no one is too strict imo

Has the board improved since we started to enforce the rules more?
definatly, especially implementing the useless void ehm protection section Wink was a good idea to distract certain posts from the games forum

Are there enough moderators or are there too much?
there are enough by the numbers, however some or most of them are rarely online (and some don't bother moderating anyway Wink ), the forum could use some more mods who are online on a more regular basis. (btw, where is razor1394, he was the most active mod imo)

should the rules be a bit less strict?
no it's fine like it is

-Are the moderators too strict? No not really, although i have never had any problems with a moderator.

- Has the board improved since we started to enforce the rules more? Im not sure but a little i would say but thats not a bad thing at all.

- Are there enough moderators or are there too much? A few more would not hurt but the ones today does the job fine.

- should the rules be a bit less strict? No way!

Yeah I get away with shitloads Very Happy

nah its things like (for example I cant be arsed to search)

#1.

When someone posts how to downlaod games, we get a whole thread with

"Fucking n00b"

or try here

http://youareafuckingdiskheadwankerwhodosentknowhowtoreadtherules.com

Etc etc...

People who post all this shite are doing it for there post counts or some kind of penis envy, and if it happened on my board I would wanr and ban people who continued to do it, its not hard to hit "report this post" or post something like "Read the rules mate, no downloading here"

#2.

just some of the plain ignorance shown by some people is amazing, I really do have to read things over and over to make sure I am reading it right... See the Holocaust (sp??) and PETA thingy threads for some examples.

I am not critisising you guys, modding a forum with active members round the clock is a 24 hour job, I just really do feel with a few members gone (and I wont mention any names but trouble or crap replys seems to originate from a few people) the forum would be a better place.

Nope no different really :/
- Are there enough moderators or are there too much?
up to you although i think u need some1 who's up early to catch the noobs dupe posting / requesting.
- Should the rules be a bit less strict?
No since no1 really follows the rules, just some mods need to loosen up.

1. No not really, however i praise the deletion of unneccessary posts in certain threads where things are taken OT for a brief period of time and the general warning system seems good. If i have one gripe then maybe its some of the mods probably do need to post more often to atleast show that they are indeed part of the community/board and willing to engage in conversation once in a while and the same could probably be said for the admins.....come on Rinze/[mrt]/Spike/Hunter we dont all bite Razz
also I have to praise SOME of the mods for being patient with a few members as I know a few have even gone as far as insulting/flaming members as well as mods! and are still here all be it barely Smile

2. Yes I think so personally I dont think I've noticed a "please tell me where to download blah blah" in quite some time, and as i have already said the PC games section has indeed improved and everything seems alot cleaner and less cluttered.

3. I think theres enough but some just dont seem to be doing their job as much as the others and those ones probably need a little kick up the bum just to keep them ticking over nicely, but if its new blood you require and you need a recommendation then I would probably say 347 aka Pallebrun hes generally a good guy and seems to be intune with his games.

4. Rules need to be less strict? well imo they are there for a reason break them and you deserve a warning, break them again and be banned. As the subject of le-way theres only so much you can let a person getaway with I think.

Well with that said I probably find spam posts annoying and pointless thats not to say its ok once in a while but users who constantly post a quick smiley face or a word or two and hit submit need a slap on the head with a big wet fish Wink

EDIT:

Btw. I would have posted in the last thread that Hunter made about "hows it going" but it was locked at the time and most of the points had already been addressed anyway.

Also wanted to ask but are you chaps going to get custom titles added? or maybe a few forum mods

eg a battle system like at this forum

http://www.arcadeathome.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?fid=22

I'm happy with how the mods currently run the forum, the rules are enforced but they're also less strict with the regualrs, which I think is a good thing as these people have shown a dedication to making NFOrce what it is today (Would you like the place as much without some of the regualrs?).. There are some clear issues with the forum, things like new users obviously not reading the rules/FAQ's and requesting, there must be someway for us to make these things clearer to people? Then again, I can't think of any right now Wink!

Either way.. Woo.. nforce Razz

1. Not at all, I like how the moderation of N00b have been treated. Though I do think that some of the n00bs should have a 2nd chance instead of getting Perm Banned upon the first post, though if a pyramid scam occur upon a first post then it should be outta here!

2. Indeed, and I must say that I like the new idea with the templates and it should occur more often in the new threads in "PC Games" Very Happy

3. I dunno, we still see dupe threads and alot of bitching in particular threads, so maybe.

4. Not at all. But maybe dont be so harsh on the n00bs...

Thats my opinion Smile

i think things are fine the way they are. mods almost always get to the problems before they get out of hand. And sometimes a little chaos can be a good thing as seen in the useless void. There are a good amount of mods I think. some of them seem to work without posting very often so its hard to tell if they are even doing anything. they have to be though because why else would they still have the job?

everything is fine imo.

I agree completely. There are some mods who i've only seen post once. But there are some great mods, I think they do a pretty good job as it is, but the mods who are useless should be kicked.

Mods are soft.
Too soft.

Sometimes when they have to be strict they become too strict. Never in between. Either laidback and strict Sad

Noop... Not enough Razz
\\- Has the board improved since we started to enforce the rules more?\\
When did you start to enforce the rules? Razz
\\- Are there enough moderators or are there too much?\\
Not enough strict ones... Too many laid back ones.

Depends which rules are being enforced with the strict-stick

I think all the mods do a good job at what they do.
a few more likeminded mods wouldnt be bad tho.

I like the fact that u can have serious discussion, which can get heated and alot is tolerated. But, if u act in an immature fashion or say something completely rude or offensive for no reason, the mods jump on u and ur gone. Which i like.

Not to many forums that will tolernate some of the stuff that we discuss on here in the way we do. That is a big plus. Because really, we are all entitled to our own opinions and the whole freedom of speech thing. Whether some ppl like the ideas or not. as ppl who can read, type and write and have some congnitive function (or else u wouldnt be on here posting), i think censorship or whatever u wish to call it is up to the end user/reader. Smile

So big ups to the nforce mods and admins for keeping freedom of speech alive Smile

My opinion:

-1.Are the moderators too strict?
I don't think so.

-2.Has the board improved since we started to enforce the rules more?
It has improved a little, atleast with the fast closing of request threads etc.

-3.Are there enough moderators or are there too much?
I would say the number is ok, we may need a few more active ones.

-4.Should the rules be a bit less strict?
No, if it should be changed it should be even more strict.

Just my thoughts on the subject.
