http://starcrawlers.com/

What is StarCrawlers?
StarCrawlers is an endless first-person RPG adventure with procedurally generated levels, enemies, events, and of course, loot! If you’re a fan of classic dungeon crawls like Ultima Underworld and building a team of shady characters ala Shadowrun, we’ll hope you’ll feel right at home in StarCrawlers. Check out the about page for more detailed information about the game!

Dungeons are underground! How can you dungeon crawl in space?
The dungeons you explore in StarCrawlers are the derelict hulks of ships, long abandoned and full of loot for the daring and death for the unwary! Out in the fringes of space, Crawlers are known for getting the job done. Asset recovery, threat elimination, and cleaning up after the corporate fat-cats who run the verse are just a few of the requisite skills for a successful Crawler team. You’ll be running jobs on the remains of an enormous colony ship – this massive vessel would have once been populated by droves of workers, on their way to start a new life on an uninhabited planet. Now the abandoned hulk is a tempting (if dangerous) target for an enterprising captain and a team of Crawlers in search of valuable salvage

When is it coming out?
Good question! Development times can be notoriously hard to predict, but we are on track to release before the end of 2014 with a fully equipped team running at high-speed. We will also be offering early access to the alpha and beta builds of the game, which should be ready around April and June 2014 (respectively). As soon as we have exact dates for alpha, beta and/or release, we’ll let everyone know!

What platforms will I be able to play StarCrawlers on?
Right now we are focusing on releasing for PC, Mac and Linux. After we complete our initial release, we’d love to work on porting the game to other platforms

looking good Very Happy

I'm skeptical about the infinite, procedurally generated part. I loved LoG, the new MMX, as well as the old crawlers, but they always had a nice "personal touch" and a goal... what's the goal in a procedurally generated crawler?

yup, hand crafted will always be better than procedurally generated shit.

i also enjoyed LoG alot but this looks too cartoony for my taste, robots design look childish etc, feels like scfi jrpg with all that flashy colors

Yup, I agree also; handcrafted dungeons/etc will always win out over procedurally generated, you get more spark and soul with personally designed levels. I do like randomised stuff for the simple reason that you get more longevity and replayability, even if it is at the expense of the rest.

They've been doing a lot of work over the last year and supposedly improved the game a lot.

"IndieGames Live" interview with gameplay footage of the new UI they were working on.

Supposedly the game has been chopped into "parts" now though, with the Steam launch coming in January/February where it's a finely polished first act + along with infinitely generated missions, then they'll release other parts as time goes on, possibly aiming for April/May release. Supposedly there's even an alpha released in September but I've not seen it "released" Mad

April and June 2014 should be alpha and beta, now suddenly 1 year later we get EA? Laughing

Haha, when I bought it on summer sale, the release date was September/October. Now it's spring 2017 but atleast they update it with new feature regulary.
