I was hoping this might happen. They finally got the rights back from their shitty old publisher last month.

Welp. They are changing the game since the first. Now detective business takes a back seat. Its a action survival game primarily now.

I liked the first one (not sure if I completed it though), despite all the jank. This one looks quite similar, with the same shitty combat. But playing it on the easiest difficulty makes it not bad. Same as their Sherlock games, basically.

I enjoyed the demo. They really improved the visuals and overall presentation but there's still just the right amount of jank for a AA Lovecraftian game. Very Happy

I actually finished the janky city 1 a long time ago when it came out and thought it was cool enough. Lotta dev drama ensued after that from what I hear but I'll probably check out the isodemo of this eldrich jankiness.

It looks like the sequel is more akin to classic survival à la SH2R/nuRE which could be interesting on paper. I don't mind some roughness, I just hope the Angina5-ization won't be too egregious performance/bugs/stuttering/derp wise.

The "terrifying" part comes from Angina 5 usage.

H.P. Lovecraft was once asked what's the most terrifying thing he ever read that wasn't written by him. He replied "powered by Unreal Engine 5."

Is it a direct sequel to The Sinking City or just a game with the same setting?

If it's a sequel then I still gotta finish the first one... so little time available now coz I've got a small baby to take care of Very Happy
