Quote:
Fight as a mighty Valkyrie to repel the forces of the underworld from invading the world of Asgard.

In BPM, all of your actions and the actions of your enemies are tied to the beat of the music. Your enemies perform a dance-like sequence of attacks to an epic rock opera. BPM is inspired by retro shooters of the 90’s. It is fast, frenetic and rhythmical. You can double jump, dash, rocket jump and bunny hop to evade your opponents.

Your goal is to reach the end of randomly generated dungeons, collecting different weapons, abilities and items each time you play. These weapons and abilities can radically alter the way you play, making each playthrough unique.

You must defeat 7 bosses to reach the final boss. Each boss moves and attacks in a unique way that you must learn to exploit if you want to succeed. Some attacks require you to jump over fields of lava, some to dodge fast projectiles, some to hold fast for a beat.

    - Shoot, jump and dodge to the beat while battling hordes of enemies.

    - Fight powerful bosses in challenging boss battles that will push you to the edge.

    - Explore randomly generated dungeons.

    - Choose from 5 different characters with unique strengths and weaknesses.

    - Wield a powerful arsenal of weapons, all with different behaviour for firing and reloading to the beat of the soundtrack.

    - Battle a diverse array of enemies, each with unique rhythmic behaviours.

    - Get overpowered and fire shotgun rockets while flying through the air.

    - Utilize abilities that radically alter the way you play the game, from teleport to freezing bolts.

    - Equip over 40 items that buff your character in unique and interesting ways.

    - Experience an epic rock opera soundtrack.

    - Challenge modes for extra gameplay.

Here's hoping it will be easy to mod in tracks. Razz

If you can tap your feet to the beat, then I'm sure you can tap your fingers as well. Razz

In the 'AI and Games' video they said that some people needed a bit of time to get used to tapping on time, but eventually everyone did.

Going by the videos, what I don't really like is the rather over zealous use of that colour filter.

Ok, it's rather hard to get the beat right, not gonna lie. Very Happy

But so far it's enjoyable, just a bit hard ATM. The biggest downfall right now is the incredibly limited weapon range. I inderstand it's supposed to be an Isaac-esque rougelite, but I wish they didn't make weapon range an upgrade. :/

Yeah, I got this release:
BPM.Bullets.Per.Minute-Haoose

Definitely an impressive game for a 2 men team. I really hope it sells well, get a slightly bigger group together and refine the formula for BPM2.

Well, yeah. It's a roguelite. Just like Binding of Isaac. Or Spelunky. Or Risk of Rain. Or Enter the Gungeon.

It's not a 'play to the end and it's done' kind of game. It's meant to be played in short "runs" and you're supposed to have one life and start over if you're dead.

Basic features of the genre.

the mechanic is cool but the fact that you have to time your shots just slows the gunplay too much. its nowhere near doom like some said

The auto rythym is really wierd and feels out of place. Fortunately you can set the level of how precisie the beats need to be. So at least it's somehow playable for me. Although until I found it I had constant auto rythym messages on screen. Surprised

Fun game for "rougelite" fans. That apparently are rare on hump.
