Quote: The King’s Speech director Tom Hooper and Dafne Keen, the breakout star of Marvel’s Logan, have signed for the big-budget adaptation of Philip Pullman’s fantasy epic His Dark Materials. I hear that the in-demand director has just closed a deal to helm the eight-part series following lengthy negotiations, while Keen will play main character Lyra, an orphan, who lives in a parallel universe. Hamilton creator and star Lin-Manuel Miranda is also joining as adventurer Lee Scoresby.
BBC One ordered the series, which is written by National Treasure and Wonder writer Jack Thorne, in 2015. Pullman’s work, which featured three books: Northern Lights, The Subtle Knife and The Amber Spyglass, is a complex tale of physics, philosophy and theology featuring witches and armored polar bears.

Hopefully she has learned to emote properly and speak English clearly. Different variations of "AAAARHHHGGH" or "RAAAAAARRRGGH" aren't going to cut it any more.
1 and 2 are still amazing.

Absolutely loved the film. Read the books because of this and books 2 and 3 just seemed 'silly'. keen to see how the tv series will go. I dont think they will beat the film tho.

HBO has come on board as co-producer and distributor of the BBC fantasy drama series His Dark Materials. HBO has partnered with BBC, Bad Wolf, in which HBO owns a small stake, and New Line Cinema to co-produce the adaptation of the Philip Pullman novels, which has an order for two eight-episode seasons from the BBC, as revealed by Deadline yesterday. Additionally, HBO has acquired the worldwide rights to the series outside of the UK. 1) Lenovo Legion 7 (AMD Ryzen 7 5800H, RTX 3080 16Gb, 32Gb DDR4, SSD 1TB +2TB

BTW, "The books of Dust" is out.. for 2 years now..
No Idea if they are gonna adapt it as well.. or some elements like the some of the side stories that occurred in parallel the main one.
I think they want to see how successful this season going to be first..
In this case, at least for the 3-5 seasons they have no excuse to not make fitful adaption
(restively)...
All the books are out for long time now and they are not that long. "Fuck Denuvo"

Ah, he was trying to write "faithful" but ended up with "fitful". It wasn't immediately obvious. Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn!

I love some of the decisions they made with the TV show, but it just me or it feels more budget than the movie?
It doesn't need more than 3-4 seasons for it to cover all the books IMO, but I do hope it will be successful enough for it to not be cancelled. "Fuck Denuvo"
