Nonlinearity: ATOM is an open world role-playing game! You are not going through a corridor, you are investigating a mystery. And this could be achieved in numerous ways. There are no artificial boundaries in the world of ATOM. Oh, and there are no "essential characters" in the game. So everybody is a "fair game"
Characters: There will be more than 300 characters in the game. ALL of them with their unique personalities, portraits and dialogues!
Encounters and Quests: There are numerous side missions, hidden adventure-like puzzles and secrets scattered around the Wastes. Even the smallest tasks can lead to a big and intricate side story, open some details about the world or somehow interconnect with the main quest! And of course, like in every self-respecting RPG there's always more than one way of dealing with them.
Combat: A turn-based combat system isn't just a nod to the legendary generation of CRPGs. For us, it's also an aesthetic choice. What's the point of combat, when you can't enjoy your every thought-through move, your every step, shot or punch? What's the point of victory, when it wasn't precisely planned in a cunning strategic move?
Weapons and Items: There will be more than 30 available weapons in the full version of the game. Soviet weaponry, makeshift shivs and guns as well as some secret weapons from the Western bloc the existence of which in the game world will be neatly tied to the lore!

Looks promising on paper, some kind of Cyka Wasteland, though with all these low-budget attempts we have to keep expectations low for...the obvious reasons. Only time will tell

imo having the best crpgs of all time in the description of the game tells tales.
If you have nothing to offer you just take the names of other games to make yourself shine.
Never heard about the game before.
Seems similar to Krai Mira. Which was a rough india copy of the Fallout classics too, but still was rather fun after some updates.
The game title screams cancer though:
ATOM RPG: Post-apocalyptic indie game
Enthoo Evolv ATX TG // Asus Prime x370 // Ryzen 1700 // Gainward GTX 1080 // 16GB DDR4-3200
- 10 new quests;
- 26 new characters;
- 10 character traits, that can be picked upon creating your character (more to come later);
- New modes: from Easy to Iron Man;
- New weapons, including the legendary AS VAL and a crossbow;
- New ammo types;
- Two new companions for your character. Finding one of them, though, won't be a walk in the park...
- New items - from perfumes to helmets;
- New crafting recipes - you can also make firearms now, no need to start your tinkering career with knives and hand to hand combat...
Spoiler:
Huge amounts of work were also done in the background. You might not notice these changes quickly, but it is thanks to them you can really immerse yourself into our game world:
- Updated most models;
- Added new sounds;
- Added new cinematic video;
- Added new animations for friends and foes;
- New AI - the NPCs now use team work, to find the best way for an attack. Now if an NPC is blocking another NPC's shooting path - it will seriously change the aiming formula, so they will try to avoid such situations;
- Global map improved, fog of war added;
- Mini-map corrected;
- Save-load menu improved;
- Game balance fully improved: from items and rewards to weapons and random encounters;
- New icons added for characters, followers, new items, etc.
- Many, many, many, many, many bugs fixed.
Today I didn't even need to use my AK. I gotta say it was a good day. (c) - Ice Cube
I played for around 5 hours, it's a lot like Fallout*. I'll also stop for now, since the full release of1.0 will not be backwards compatible with 0.9 saves
A lot of people have been asking - when we will see ATOM? Will it be this year or the next one? Now, we don’t want to ignore our community so here is a small informational post about what we are up to right now.
First of all - the game will come out in the end of December, 2018, no second thoughts about it! Right now we can’t say the exact date, but we will say it in out traditional pre-update post that will come out in the next week. We will use this time to focus on all the new features and quests which there are many! Although, testing the new content, bug fixes and finalizing the new content is not everything that we still need to do.

It’s time to make a very important announcement! After a year of work spent in Early Access we can finally name the release date for ATOM RPG! It’s going to be the 19th of december, 2018, when we’ll finish polishing the game mechanics, testing of new content, error fixing, and will finalize the main questline of the game.
The fact that we’re releasing the game, though, does not mean that we’re stopping development. ATOM is still going to receive a lot of free additional content way after the release date.
big words but if sales fail, say byebye to those "free" updates. one should always consider these roadmapless vague statements as a red warning sign, to me it read like, the game isnt finished yet we still have to do tons of fixes in future free updates, we need monies now , plz help
but its 15 bucks and fallout, just a shame the gfx and tiles really look shitty

I agree, so far the impressions are definitely positive. I'm still wandering like a babushka in Krasnoznamenny but the game really is what it claims to be, the resemblance with the original Fallouts is uncanny both when it comes to core gameplay and contents.
Doesn't hold your hand at all and you never know what you're going to find when exploring the Blyatlands (death most likely!), there seem to be different ways to deal with problems also which is nice. The characters and stories can be absolutely bizarre in a typical Russian manner
I suspect that some heavy patching will be required as per usual for balance, future bugs and other stuff (an option to rebind controls for instance, some bits could use a better translation, dialogues don't show already selected choices etc.), but the potential is there.
It's made in unity yeah. It's the only third party engine suited for a game like this without the need of workarounds for every shit and having to rewrite large parts of it, so that's why most recent games like this use it.
Heh, started a new, proper playthrough at 10pm yesterday. Had to force myself to stop a moment ago, when I noticed it's almost 10am already
Yeah, it's Unity, and yeah, it's good. Don't even mind getting massacred by a bunch more rats than I expected to encounter during a faily low-level quest
Like promised, we are continuing to improve the game according to the advice you give us on the forums. This update is pretty large and significant. We really hope you will enjoy the changes it brings. Here is the full list of them:

Reworked random encounter balance;
You can now refuel at the caravaneers and in Red Fighter;
Stalkers now visit Red Fighter on a certain stage of development;
Battle speed can now be changed in the menu;
Better optimization for ATI and GeForce cards;
An ability to switch and rebind keys in any way you prefer;
Better criticals!
Typos our community found are now fixed;
Reworked skill and attribute checks some NPCs have;
Fixed Hexogen;
Master of Unlocking now grants XP;
Shadow errors in Dead City fixed;
Livened up trade in Peregon;
Lone Wolf perk does not punish you for having Dzhulbars in the party;
Modified weight of some items, work is in progress;

Around ten lesser bugs fixed;
We would also like to use this opportunity to wish you all a happy New Year! Thanks for sticking with us, friends. You help make our dream game even better! Have a great holiday, and let there be ATOM!
