Introducing Hellpoint, a dark augurist action RPG for PC and consoles, brought to you by Canadian developer Cradle Games. Embark on a soul conjuring journey aboard a derelict space station and figure out the twisted series of events that led to an occult quantum catastrophe. Hunt, or be hunted by insane mobs, decadent daemons, and deep space monsters, all under the constant watch of the black hole.
Quote:
- Surprise your opponent by forging your very own supernatural skill using our revolutionary power crafting system
- Find your own balance of risks and rewards by performing strange rituals that affects the power and resilience of the enemies
- Plan and commit to your own network of quantic fast travel checkpoints but think carefully as quantity is limited per playthrough
- The path you take inside the open-world level design determines which enemies take control of various parts of the station, or which cosmic gods will accept to challenge you
- A special take on the new game plus design leaves you wondering if you truly discovered the real secret of Hellpoint
that said, the trailer leaves a fair bit to be desired... but it is very early, so hopefully its not representative or anything more than the rough idea of the game..
So, I played that demo a bit and sure, for me it runs really bad. I didn't even expect it to run on my PC though. Yes, it's really rough, but I think it actually succeeds at being a Souls game when bigger games have failed. I really like the theme too, very E.Y.E Divine Cybermancy - like. This can totally become an awesome game if the work necessary is put into it.

The premise of a mix between Dead Space + Dark Souls sounds so good in theory.
But as you people mentioned, it looks very very rough. And i doubt they will manage to improve much in that regards
Also i don't understand why they have to put in splitscreen mode for this, at all.
Hellpoint is a dark sci fi action RPG set in the aftermath of a massive quantic cataclysm. You play as a mysterious ghoulish character whose intentions are entirely determined by your decisions. Coming in 2019
What a fucking joke. Literally every time someone tries to make a Souls game, FROMsoft just releases their own that actually innovates and improve upon the formula that just embarrasses what everyone else is trying to do.
Hides behind a shield and circle strafe, fuck me that is at least 7 years too old.

Yeah, "innovate and improve" by completely removing everything but the generic roll roll roll combat and removing just about all RPG elements. Less is more or something, I guess.
Some people liked Dark Souls. I guess others just pretended they did.
Nioh is not a Souls clone, neither is Salt. Nioh doesn't even have similar level designs or progression or combat. Salt is 2D action platformer but obviously inspired by Souls.
I can't say I am a big Dark Souls game and this sounds banal but I feel like this is just a reskin of the series. The animations and zombies look almost the same to me.
