Here is a question for ya… don’t ask where it came from, that’s not important…
A person comes into the police department, asking to speak to someone from the narcotics department… someone comes up to him and the man tells the cop he knows of a shipment of about 100 or so tons of cocaine moving through the country and will give its location and people involved to the police IF he has 100% GUARANTEE that he will receive one ton of the material as payment… no ifs or buts or charges….
Would you accept the deal??? I would, I have no idea why people make these rules restricting police in situations like this… would u rather have 100 tons on the streets or 1???
For fuck sakes….

depends what that person is gonna do with that 1 ton of cocaine.
edit: i would make the deal, and eventualy bust that guy 2

well he would probably go into hiding.. and since one ton would surely kill him before he even gets through 1/100 if it, i am guessing he wants to sell it.

I would first arrest him for being the criminal morally corrupt ass he is, and then force him to tell any way, and if he didn't put him in jail forever for obstruction of justice.

Yes you'd accept the deal. I bet corrupt things like this go on quite a bit though. Still if the police can stop the 'big boys' eventually the person with a ton will seem unimportant, and i'm pretty sure a clause will prevent the cops from busting the person.

Because you, as an officer, are encouraging people to break the law, i.e. having a ton of coke. A much better alternative would be to reward that person with a few grand.

lol, are you sure you are a cop yet max? This is nothing more but a blackmail attempt from that guy. What if someone approaches you in office and says: I know who that mass murder is, but i'm only gonna tell you for 10 million dollars.
We have laws in Germany wich permit the police and the da's to take poeple like these into custody untill they tell the information they have. Otherwise the police would be susceptible to blackmail, and who would decide what deal to take and wich one to decline? Do you want to do that?

no, we ACTUALLY will have to agree with the deal and nothing else... he wants a ton, if we hold him we'll have to charge him, at which point he will say it was all a joke... and if we give him the ton and then arrest him noone else will ever come forward with info.... really fucked up, i think they are setting up taps on him to catch the dealer...
