Heard it has some spoilers for Yakuza 6 but hopefully the 3 - 5 compilation will hit PC too at some point and then there's only Judgement and Yakuza 6 left.
Which leaves Ishin and Kenzan but apparently at least one of these deals with actual mature themes like drugs and prostitution so some elements might need to be remade if they ever were localized officially.
This looks good too although I really liked Yakuza 0 mixing in a bit more seriousness into things but I suppose that game had five or six other games to build from and the side stories are ... what they are.
(Still good though, some of them really good actually.)
Suppose the turn based combat here also means the combat will be a bit less physics dependent than the newer games were which I suppose makes going back to the non-Kiwami updated Yakuza 3, 4 and 5 a bit of a spin for how the PC ports have gone so far but then that early combat mechanic also worked really well though it could get comically broken too ha ha.
Kazuma Kiriyu now near 52 years old and almost hasn't aged a day visually since Yakuza 0 and then these other doods and the usual Majima must be everywhere because fan popularity.
Hopefully the PC port has less tech issues, Yakuza 0 worked pretty well with updates and fan fixes resolved some of the wonky stuff in Kiwami 1, unsure about Kiwami 2 on the newer Dragon Engine but I believe it was partially fixed by patches and then fan updates resolved the bigger remaining problems?
(Still fairly demanding though for how the engine is doing certain things.)
EDIT: Neat how Sega is also embracing the Japanese nature of the games now and while some content got shuffled around, removed or altered in these Kiwami updates and re-releases it doesn't seem to be too bad overall though I don't have a good overview for what got switched around beyond some of the direct examples and outcries over censorship as usually happens.
English dub perhaps but maybe the world isn't ready for it yet and the big boss of the Yakuza organizations.
The Oya Bun.
(Well this time it'll probably be a bit different and yeah the PSX version VO over the Kiwami edition re-release of Yakuza 1)
EDIT: Suppose the Dragon of the West in Yakuza (Kiwami) 2 was a really good character too even if I preferred Yakuza 0 overall.
Plot twists and turns in the newer games will probably get a bit crazy too.
(Well .. this here game stars someone who likes Dragon Quest enough to turn things into a turn based combat system so ... yeah.)
Ishin and Kenzan are never gonna be localised sadly
There was a fan translation project for Kenzan back in the day, I don't know if any significant progress was made since then. (last update was in 2018).
It's a big step for the series because this is the first game without Kiryu being the main character. I saw in the trailer that some of the old gang are still there but it will definitely be different..
The game received very good reviews in Japan when it came out, so I'm very optimistic .
As far as the remastered collection (3,4,5) the Yakuza PC team is currently working on 3 "unannounced" projects, so it's a safe bet that we will have it by the end of the year.
And 6 was even listed for PC back in 2018
I still can't believe that we are getting these series in PC, I remember playing the first Yakuza back in the day and I never thought that it will come out on anything other than a Playstation console.
Yeah SEGA and a couple of other studios have really been focused on the PC these last few years, improvements to store fronts like Steam probably helped too but I wonder how much of a surprise games like Dark Souls and Dragons Dogma actually were being able to take older titles and hit record selling numbers.
From what info was available and how several Japanese studios have changed their priority for PC versions to be more of a common thing it seems to have worked pretty well.
Not that every launch was handled well but even being considered a target platform at all was a big change now it's mainly Atlus or just their Japanese main office that are holding back. (Catherine PC port happened though.)
(Even Sony having some involvement starting with Horizon Zero Dawn and if that goes well I expect more to follow even if it's a few months to a year later.)
Now this series is spreading with a few installments getting PC releases and yeah more were rumored to come like the info about Yakuza 6 from earlier and then the series also hitting XBox via the Game Pass functionality as a big thing and there's a chance the western version of Yakuza 7 / Yakuza: Like a Dragon here could be a simultaneous launch which if the PC port isn't problematic would be a big step forward.
EDIT: Eh I can't do descriptions or explanations very well but things have changed, porting quality could be better for some studios but that too has changed and it's not like it's a non-issue for Western developers or anything it's just about as much of a issue occasionally if not more so at times.

(it's a waste playing this with English VA/dub though...)
Quote:
Revealed exclusively as part of IGN's coverage of Comic-Con@Home, the game will arrive in November 2020 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC (via Windows Store and Steam). It will be released as a launch title for Xbox Series X this Holiday, and the PS5 version will "release at a later date".
Cyberpunk - you wait for goty so everything is fully implemented
AC just wait a week or two for the patches
So in the end you can play Yakuza.
