The story centers on the Gardners, a family who moves to a remote New England farmstead to escape the hustle of the 21st century. They are busy adapting to their new life when a meteorite crashes into their front yard. It seems to melt into the earth, infecting both the land and the properties of space-time with a strange, otherworldly color, and to the family’s horror they discover the alien force is gradually mutating every life form that it touches including them.

I've been meaning to give Mandy a try for so long, but after experiencing Cosmatos' previous film (which I shit-deleted by the middle mark or so) I'm just very, very, VERY sceptical..

Cause Mandy was a surprise hit, and studio wants to do more cheap movies that'll reap rewards. Go for Mandy look on a 5mil budget, make at least 30 Mil.
The aesthetics of these movies has nothing to do with cheapness, that they can't light a scene properly... it's clearly paying homage to 80's and B-horror movies (movies like Re-Animator especially). I think Mandy looked great.
Actually Mandy had great lightning. This from trailer doesn't - for a first look - has this quality.

I've met the colorist myself and she told me that the movie drags a bit and has a bit thin drawn characters, but that this should fill my lovecraftian thirst (as well as aesthetics of course) quite nicely. Again! Can't wait.
