Idris Elba will appear a bit but a younger actor will mostly play the character as a teenager because it's a prequel. McConaughey might appear - his character will definitely appear but they might use some other actor.
It's based a bit on book 1 and mostly on book 4: Wizard and Glass. 10-13 episodes. More faithful adaptation than the movie. They are aiming for Netflix or something because of the dark story. Shoots in 2017, airs in 2018. A second season, should the first become a success could adapt stories from the Marvel Dark Tower comics.

And as an hardcore King reader, i knew this was coming...From what ive seen allready from the movie and read from the tv show, im allready dissapointed..
i think i better dont watch the movie or anything else, the book´s have a tooooo GOOOOD memory, that i really dont wanna destroy....
