|
 |
I currently have the Anker SoundCore Boost A3145.
It had very good reviews, a HUGE, HUGE, infinite battery (actually it even serves as a powerbank for other devices, because it was over-engineered) and good sound, BUT(!!!) ...
... my main beef with it is that it's insufferably "directional".
Why, what do you mean, Pax? You're asking...
Well, I'm glad you asked. Let me explain:
When the speaker is positioned like this, it sounds like an expensive, high capacity, mono potet:
However, when I slightly lift it up using an object to hold it in place, it sounds really, really good (stereo with good bass) speaker:
The orange thing next to it is my Google Home Mini that I'm trying to get used to and despite it being so small and probably objectively less-quality sound-wise, it still sounds better.
My suspicion is maybe for my use purpose it may really be better to have a good omnidirectional speaker for listening on my desk in paralell to doing stuff on the PC.
It's not like I'm sitting with a glass of Merlot on my couch and I got the speakers pointed at me at all times both directinal and also height-wise.
Any useful advice from the audiopedophiles on this forum?
Thanks in advance.

No, I think it means the speaker doesn't see gender when it comes to who it dates.

Feggit, just look for cylindrical speakers f.e. from Sonos or similar. They will also most likely have some sort of google home or alexa integration so that you can activate your huge dildo via voice command

What if it's some shitty design where it's assumed to be put down flat instead of upright and then head clear left, right directional outputs.
I'm not trusting manufacturers based on the form alone, there is so much cheap and useless stuff out there.
Omnidirectional sound is one mandatory requirement, feggit!!!
I'll check something out tomorrow in MediaMarkt... |
Sonos is high end stuff. The one goose is refering to is probably this: https://www.sonos.com/en-us/shop/move.html
There's the Sonos One as well
https://www.sonos.com/en/shop/one.html
Can't find any hard data on it being omnidirectional though.
Just because it's cylindrical won't necessarily mean omni.
The reason most of these work is they're either wrapped in speakers in all directions (probably 4 directional) or they need to be upfiring. Could downfire too but not sure that'd work in any benefit as it'll hit the surface and without a reflective surface will just absorb the sound ruining the volume.
IS there a reason you're after a small bluetooth speaker like this vs running a pair of bookshelf bluetooth speakers that'd sound infinitely better? Because Edifier has those covered: https://www.amazon.com/Edifier-R1280DB-Bluetooth-Bookshelf-Speakers/dp/B0719C132V/

Nah, Sonos One isn't Omni. Got that one, good sound but not what he's looking for.
Now that I think of it, can't say I actually saw any omni speakers from them when we bought em.
