it's interesting how disconnected from reality these show runners are.. this could have been huge in-between seasons of GoT when everyone was fired up for more, the hype has since long died.
obviously i'm gonna check it out since it's fantasy and im a fan of the genre, just like LOTR series, but i'll keep my expectations very low to say the least..

I really don't understand why you'd give a flying fuck over/mock this character being portrayed by a black actor, when his skin colour is never directly mentioned (only his hair) in books I'm not sure all of the pissed off people ever read to begin with. To each their own, I guess.

it's far too evident that its virtue signaling, it's not like black people couldn't have many other roles in a fantasy series, but that will not be satisfying enough for those that scream the loudest.. its important to put them in the roles where they know it will provoke the most. They did that for LOTR series too, e.g making sure that there are black dwarves (which also makes no sense since dwarves lives in caves where there's no sun at all) + black elves - more provocative than having e.g black humans, they know this will make original fans (which they hate) upset.
It's also just very racist to virtue signal in this way, if it's really supposed to be about representation, then where's the latino, asian or why not native american, Aboriginals, Maori representation? are blacks supposed to represent them all, do they think they're all pretty much the same because they're not white? pretty racist

this is supposed to be based on a book thats already finished so quality wise it could be like the early got seasons, add in the experience they gather from making got and you could see a big win.

Fire & Blood is not considered very good, check reviews on goodreads etc.. that's the book this is based upon. from the people i know who's read it they seem clueless as to why someone would want to make it into a series.
what experience? from what i can tell it's not the same person(s) behind it.
