HUMANKIND is Amplitude Studios' magnum opus, a Historical Turn-Based Strategy game where YOU will re-write the entire narrative of humankind – a convergence of culture, history, and values that allows you to create a civilization that is as unique as you are.
One Million Civilizations
Create your own civilization by combining 60 historical cultures from the Bronze to the Modern Age.
Begin as Ancient Egypt, then evolve into the Romans, the Khmers, or perhaps the Vikings.
Each culture brings its own special gameplay layer, leading to near-endless outcomes.
What civilization will you shape?
In the Eyes of Posterity
The journey matters more than destination. Fame is a new and unifying victory condition.
Every great deed you accomplish, every moral choice you make, every battle won will build your fame and leave a lasting impact on the world. The player with the most fame will win the game.
Will you be the one to leave the deepest mark on the world?
More than History, it is your Story

Face historical events, lead renowned figures of humankind, and make scientific breakthroughs.
Discover the natural wonders of the world or build the most remarkable creations of humankind.
Each game element is historically authentic. Combine them to build your own vision of the world.
How will you Change the Course of HUMANKIND?
A Tactical World
Show off your tactical skills by mastering terrain elevation with city-building and full tactical battles.
Keep one step ahead of other civilizations through trade and subtle diplomacy.
Call upon your allies to transform an epic battle into a full-scale eight-player world war!
What strategy will you mastermind?
These are just some of the amazing things you will be able to do in HUMANKIND.
I could imagine being a RTS or something around that due to the radar thing...I thought "Another Valkyria Chronicles?"...Nah
Not my cup of tea

tbh really curious to see Amplitude doing a historical "Civ" game , like their Endless Legend is pretty much the best civ-like game on the market right now and now they got directly agaisnt Firaxis
Endless Legend is a lot deeper, but at the same time a lot less cluttered than Civ games. I prefer them greatly to Civ. And Endless Space 2 is my fav. 4x game of all time - I love how it minimizes micro-management, and really puts an emphasis on the strategical layer.
In Humankind, you will play as an avatar that you create, customize and lead to make the largest mark on history.
As you progress through Amplitude's brand new historical 4X strategy game, you'll combine cultures through six different eras to build a civilization as unique as you are. The journey matters more than the destination, and no great deed will go unnoticed.
sar·casm | \ ˈsär-ˌka-zəm \
1: a sharp and often satirical or ironic utterance designed to cut or give pain
2a: a mode of satirical wit depending for its effect on bitter, caustic, and often ironic language that is usually directed against an individual
b: the use or language of sarcasm
It looks really great, hopefully it will rekindle my love for the genre. I tried getting back into the latest Civ, when it was free on EGS , and uninstalled after 30 minutes.
There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.
You can save scum I think (haven't tried it though).
What I dislike about 4x games is that they very hastily become management and optimization sims. Amplitude games however are very much about decisions and more meaningful choices. I like that a lot about this game as well. Even the very first scenario had a lot of different ways you could go about developing your cities. Plus, they did make an effort to cut down on time wasting micromanagement. Which I love.
I trust these devs a lot. They know their shit, and they are unafraid to break the mold.
Demo out on Stadia until the 28th and no, you do not have to sign up for that trial. I ended up clicking on Login and then signing in that way.
This Humankind trial lets you play through the first two eras, lasting roughly 100 turns. The first pits you as the Nubians to get things started, before opening up on a choice of ten cultures for your second era. You'll be free to plug in as much time as you wish until the demo closes next Wednesday, October 28th.
Signature/Avatar nuking: none (can be changed in your profile)
