This is a moment that oh-so-many of you have been waiting for. (It takes seafaring vessels a while to get across the sea, you know.) The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles brings together two amazing games previously only released in Japan: The Great Ace Attorney: Adventures and The Great Ace Attorney 2: Resolve. Join Phoenix’s Wright’s ancestor, Ryunosuke Naruhodo, as he takes his first incredibly nervous steps into a courtroom in Meiji era Japan to defend his very first client: himself! Soon after, it may seem like you’ll be saying yoi tabi o to Ryunosuke as he leaves Nippon, but you’ll be joining him on his journey as he embarks on adventures that will take him overseas to England’s courts and back again.

From Ryunosuke to Phoenix, being an ace attorney really does run in the family. We can’t wait to show you more of what this collection including The Great Ace Attorney: Adventures and The Great Ace Attorney 2: Resolve has to offer. You won’t have to wait long to take those first steps behind the defense’s bench, as The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles takes you to court on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Steam on July 27th!

we are finally getting an official localization

Man what a great game.
I loved the original trilogy but this is probably gonna be my new fav.
Playing case 3 now and just loving the story and the characters.
The new mechanics like the dance of deduction with Sherlock or cross examining the jury are fun and meaningful additions. The characters and their animations ooze so much charm, giving them sort of a disney-ish or ghibli-ish vibe, with a great ost to boot.
The localization and writing are great as always, there is a lot of humour that lightens ups the proceedings and it never gets boring.
It's one of those games I can't wait to get back to whenever I'm doing something else, simply beautiful So Much Win

I can fully recommend it to everyone who hasn't played any of the other games in the series so far, as it's a prequel and doesn't require any previous knowledge.

Haven't played a Phoenix Wright game but this was great (horrible legal system in Japan though). The second case was brilliant in that the entire time I'm thinking "When do we get to the courtroom." Definitely worth the purchase with the right amount of visual novel and gameplay.

I'm very annoyed by how retarded everyone is. It's like the dialogue was written by first graders, the most basic and obvious things are beyond the lawyers and the judge, and you have to painstakingly explain every little thing...very tiring.

It's a japanese weeb game. You need a strong inner 9yo to enjoy them.
I don't even bother with these.

Finished the 2nd game this week (ignoring the 1st one since i've already finished it on Citra + Fan Translation)

THE GOOD:

-THE SOUNDTRACK and the ability to choose Japanese audio for more better drama

-With the mod out there you can play it at +60FPS, making it better (Maybe a few specific animations runs at 30 but not that it really matters, but i think they've fixed em out already in V8..I think. I played the last 2 chapters with V6)

-Great details on everything with minimal pixelation. A great port

-Voices (in japanese in my case) are fine, and it's funny because the japanese voices are the same as the japanese version, meaning that copyrighted names like Sherlock Holmes etc are untouched (Yet the english version and almost each chapter's background writting has been changed to match the american copyright (example: HERLOCK SHOLMES))

-The magnificent "STORY MODE" tool, wich allows you to let the game to play itself out without (almost) doing anything. You can enable the mode in Options and , while in a trial/exploring area, you can press the F key to toggle between Story Mode ON/OFF. Very useful if you're stucked in a trial or scenario and don't know how to progress, only that once you see what was left to do you can toggle it off so you can continue your way until next time. Useful on last chapters for both games (Trust me, you'll be surprised... See at THE BAD below)

-As with other PW games you can hold the Z key (After activating "Text Skip" in options) in order to speed up the chats that you've seen and even not seen to speed things up (Useful in a trial's Witness Testimony section)

THE BAD:

-With the first one, the story is great but sometimes trials tends to over-extend themselves WAY TOO MUCH with unnecessary topics to be discussed, even though soon or later they'll get linked out, it kinda gets tedious. Readers with patience game..

-The (2nd) game (atleast) doesn't tells you that , while doing the "Resolving scenarios with Sherlock" , you can use the space bar on items to examine items and maybe change their texts to fit the proof you need to show out to counterattack Sherlock's theories in order to progress

-The game thinks that you're reading the entire script and remembering it all, only that whenever you need proof to show at court on a statement might get invalid because you must remember specific things told in a scenario examination (talking/searching) or previously talked stuff on court. Hence why the Story Mode tool helps in these situations..

-The copyrighted names, although other names aren't changed. Starting Chapter 2 you will think "The bullshit they've done with this character's name!" only to later out see that they talk about copyrighted names being true to their real characters. You'll see...

....But for fuck's sake, HERLOCK SHOLMES?...I'll let that skip because they've fucking finally ported the game here, but still FUCK!!!

-Sometimes the need to do 2 clicks in order to activate a search function etc reminds ya that you're playing a 3DS port... Totally...

8/10

Boredom, a lack of anything in their life, not being able to wank properly, or could be any/all, or something stupid?, it's a strange world we now live in Wink

The game is great and probably just not your cup of tea.
I play pretty much all genres and it's refreshing to switch between wildly different sorts of games. You should try some variety too, it's not fun to be stuck on 1-2 genres your whole life Wink
