true story ? i wonder if they will show the dozen of american squadrons in obselete planes
that didnt score a single bomb or torpedo hit on any of the japanese carriers or ships cause they attacked one at a time and without any fighter support, suffering 75%+ casualties ...
and how it was pure luck they actually found an attack window of around 30-45 mins where there enemy carriers where at their most vulnerable with planes fully fueled and armed on the decks and in the hangars
those where some brave ( i dare say stupid brave kamikaze like ) pilots, the first waves didnt stand a chance and it was a pure suicide mission
I guess M.Bay's Pearl Harbor wasn't big enough of a flop. Now they'll let that other hack Emerich give the thing a try with Midway.
Come the fuck on HBO. We want Master of the Air already for some "actually good" air battle action.
Indeed! I wish they'd give us some updates besides the generic 'it will come..someday'. If we're lucky we could see a late 2020 or early 2021 release, though there is quite a bit of secrecy when it comes to the actual filming.
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"
I thought it was pure crap - bad acting, bad script and sometimes really horrible cgi (not always though - some cgi was nice).
The battlesound was odd - sometimes it was almost silent while characters was talking..
I love ww2 movies/books/games/documentaries etc etc...but this one felt like a really low budget movie.
Edit: Concidering how important battle of Midway was - I was expecting to see a movie with Saving Private Ryan / Band Of Brothers quality...
shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.
I have the strongest impression that this is the standard review for any product TV or movie by an average Humper whether he'd seen it, watched a trailer or read about it in the news.
Saving private Ryan has a better script? Really? Band of brothers - yeah, sure, but it's a dozen of hours and shows real people in trenches. In movies like Midway you barely have time for two patriotic speeches and a few heroic dialogues between pew-pew scenes.
Acting was top notch for the genre. Nothing to write home about but it was perfect for a 2hr patriotic vid.
And the japanese guys. Perfect acting there, no?
Today I didn't even need to use my AK. I gotta say it was a good day. (c) - Ice Cube

I agree to disagree.

There is only one relevant question: Is it a standard Emmerich movie? You know exactly what I mean (oh and I'm really eager to learn how he implemented the estranged, divorced father role into a WWII movie Is it an estranged, dishonored army general taking care of a young soldier? )
Yeah, good standard Emmerich movie. Lots of menly action and very few lines for women, as it should be Lots of CGI though and I'm pretty sure they didn't have a single real plane on set ever. Compared to e.g. Dunkirk or 1917 it seemed really cheap and like a video game. Visually it was not as good as older Emmerich movies it is so obviously CGI but at least you can see what is going on during action scenes.
