Good. Better than americanizing yet another classic.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

I heard it from a sensationalist clickbaiter on utub, so it must be true.

Yea but this is NOT what Thor actually is. And too much comedy is enough. We already had 3 movies and 2 of them failed miserably with the 3rd, while being the best of, it still raised flags on where they are going with Thor. Would be a nice change since in the comics, at least, not all is laughter and funny sketches.
As for Taika, yeah it's pretty obvious what he does from his past movies as well. But they did hire him to direct Akira which is nowhere near comedic.
/Edit: Also didn't say to totally change course just to reduce the comedic elements of the movie by a notch.

i absolutely loved thor3 for the first half of the movie.. it was only in the second half when it started taking itself all too serious again that the movie fell apart and devolved into your run-of-the-mill superhero flick that weve seen bazillion times before...

I didn't really like any of them, to be honest. First one is probably my favourite, thrid one was passable, if barely, second was a complete turd. I feel the original Thor offered the best balance between comedy and at least a semblence of a story. Third one's humour was very hit and miss for me. Maybe Taika's brand of comedy just isn't my cup of tea.

Spoilers for the one's who didn't saw Endgame (which I encourage they must):
Spoiler: | Well, our beloved Thor has to go more deep of what we seen already. Thor 3 was one of marvel's best movies and in Endgame we saw a fucked Thor, that did not leave everyone happy. There's a fun discussion about who was the best hero to use the infinity stones. The writers decided a downgraded Hulk was the one. But hardcore funs are right to bet for Thor. (Actually the discussion is very funny indeed). So, my guess is that with this director, they want to take Thor's character even deeper to his own abysm: in the story we have a Thor that lost everything and he knows that as a god, he hasn't had any major role in the events from Endgame, besides having himself kicked by Thanos in the final battle, only to be saved by Cpt. America (he was worth! as we all knew from the comics and from Avengers Ultron, that he knew he was worthy but didn't pick the Mjolnir to not ridiculice / offend Thor); has lost his brother, Asgard, everyone: so he decided to embark himself on a trip with a bunch of weirdos he don't know it's like when you're medium wasted and some good fella invite you to an unknown experience and offer you more drinks from a doubt proceeding. And this with a god.
|
So overall, by the premise, we can expect a good Thor movie, hopefully with the same actor.

Quote: | Feige talked about the next Thor film, Marvel Studios' Thor: Love and Thunder, which will be the fourth feature film in the Thor franchise. It was revealed that Jane Foster, played by Natalie Portman, will become the Mighty Thor, the goddess of thunder.
Director Taika Waititi, Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, and Natalie Portman all came on stage for the presentation, eliciting a wild response from the Hall H audience who are looking forward to the film’s November 5, 2021 debut in theaters. |

It's the final Chris Thor movie.
Everything from now on will have wamen front and centre just like the dying comics.
Hopefully they'll give it proper treatment and not alienate fans.

Waititi and Portman I think it's going to work out great!
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."

Actually, Portman is extremely attractive (to me) so I will overlook the bad things and concentrate on her.

Oh... they're going with that storyline. Well at least unlike larson, portman's character actually has a personality so that's already a win.
Midget goddess of thunder might just work

Intredasting.
No seriously, Bale is an awesome actor. Hope they don’t waste too much of his potential.

Seems like another Jake G. sort of deal where he'll be a "done in one" villain.
1 and 2 are still amazing.
