Hello frens,

I have started an interesting little project, because my little 11,6" has glitches in it's display (multiple black horizontal lines, estimating 15-25 pixels high, width 100%).

It's too good to sell it for cheap or give it away, so I was looking for "alternative" way to preserve the value, because the HW is fine, IMHO.

Display 11.6", 1366x768, 135dpi, 60Hz, non-glare
CPU Intel Celeron N2840, 2x 2.16GHz
RAM 4GB DDR3
Grafik Intel HD Graphics (IGP), HDMI
Anschlüsse 1x USB-A 3.0, 1x USB-A 2.0, 1x Gb LAN
Wireless WLAN 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0
Akku Li-Ionen, 3 Zellen, 2640mAh
Gewicht 1.29kg

I changed the 500Gb HDD for a 128Gb SSD obviously to make that little fucker fly.

While I was opening it up, I was think "what about if I could just use it as a SBC type of device, like a Pi?".

Then I tested it out by disconnecting everything step by step very carefully and indeed it does work seemslessly outside of it's laptop hull.

A friend of mine who owns a really good 3D printer has offered me to print a custom case for it, if I give him the specs in a suitable format and I'm looking into this right now, like meassuring it's dimensions and where the screw holes go etc.

But for now I'm curious whether I can keep using it's Wifi card.

The reason for this is pretty simple: usually the Wifi "antennas" are connected at the backside of the display for maximization of surface area.

So my question would be: is there a way, like an adaptor or something, I can connect it with wires that then go to regular Wifi Antennas like those RP-SMA type things you can get for cheap?
