dated? still arguably the best show ever made (you'd have to fight between this & the wire for top spot)

i rewatch this often, last time with my wife a few months back. dig in for a wild ride Smile

I finished watching it for the first time last month and was absolutely blown away by its intensity, quality writing and acting. Not to mention the fact that the show is like a wild polyhedron when it comes to representing what's right and what's wrong, it's extremely rare (if not impossible) to find that sort of raw ambiguity in modern shows.

A little especially in the earlier seasons, it can be a bit involuntarily corny at times and it's getting slightly apparent visually-wise (it's to be expected), but the Shield remains a top TV series, one of the very best and it delivers action-wise, it's never a snoozefest. Very Happy I don't rate it quite as highly as The Wire or The Sopranos though, it doesn't go the extra step above but that's part of the Shield's own charm, there's no bullshit in it Very Happy
Definitely a must watch if you've never seen it - all through the end.. what an end ! Razz

Better than Sopranos and Wire imo, only series that i would rank a little higher is Breaking Bad..

Sopranos is incredible, and so are some seasons of The Wire, but they are both not as exciting, they're way slower.

Southland is also great if you haven't seen it.

This is probably the only series for me where every new season was better than all the previous ones up until the final season, plus it has (IMO) the best series finale ever.
