So what's up with this spyware shit they are installing at driver level.
Please don't say it's to keep hackers away coz that sounds like bunch of lies.
Well, so far Riot has been transparent enough with such things. But they can always turn to the Chinese Side too. Official response from them is this:

TL;DR Yes we run a driver at system startup, it doesn't scan anything (unless the game is running), it's designed to take up as few system resources as possible and it doesn't communicate to our servers. You can remove it at anytime.
Vanguard contains a driver component called vgk.sys (similar to other anti-cheat systems), it's the reason why a reboot is required after installing. Vanguard doesn't consider the computer trusted unless the Vanguard driver is loaded at system startup (this part is less common for anti-cheat systems).
This is good for stopping cheaters because a common way to bypass anti-cheat systems is to load cheats before the anti-cheat system starts and either modify system components to contain the cheat or to have the cheat tamper with the anti-cheat system as it loads. Running the driver at system startup time makes this significantly more difficult.
We've tried to be very careful with the security of the driver. We've had multiple external security research teams review it for flaws (we don't want to accidentally decrease the security of the computer like other anti-cheat drivers have done in the past). We're also following a least-privilege approach to the driver where the driver component does as little as possible preferring to let the non-driver component do the majority of work (also the non-driver component doesn't run unless the game is running).
The Vanguard driver does not collect or send any information about your computer back to us. Any cheat detection scans will be run by the non-driver component only when the game is running.
The Vanguard driver can be uninstalled at any time (it'll be "Riot Vanguard" in Add/Remove programs) and the driver component does not collect any information from your computer or communicate over the network at all.
We think this is an important tool in our fight against cheaters but the important part is that we're here so that players can have a good experience with Valorant and if our security tools do more harm than good we will remove them (and try something else). For now we think a run-at-boot time driver is the right choice.
I think CS still has a comfortable amount of glorious days ahead.
Valorant is already taking Twitch by storm. The game plays butter-smooth and Riot is on to something with the addition of heroes (agents) to the CS:GO formula. I'm pretty sure this game will do really well.
was watching shroud play this for quite some time, it doesn't look bad (gameplay wise.. graphically it looks mobile trash).. but i never felt like i wanted to play it. it's almost like a clone of Overwatch with a few CS mechanics thrown in. you spend a lot of your time dead due to peekers advantage/low ttk and you either destroy people or get destroyed with little middle ground. i wouldn't say it's boring.. just i can't find a reason to play it
the system driver is dogshit also, i don't see how that can't be circumvented shortly and now everyone gets to run another permanent piece of spyware on their machines, great. if it was actually 100% effective then i'd probably have no argument on it however, because wallhacking in these games makes for some really boring competitive play.

It's actually the other way around. The game is completely based on CS:GO. You have to buy guns/armor/abilities charges, the shooting mechanics are very similar, you attack/defend a bomb site, etc.
someone casually mentioned this game in our group and looking at some footage this looks worse than I expected, even the mechanics dont seem interesting. But wow... the art/animations are horrendous

I was on the same boat after watching footage online. Then I played the game and I was pleasantly surprised by how fluid everything works and how smooth everything looks. As a gamer who plays a lot of online shooters, Valorant offers by far the cleanest experience in years. Surely this was possible because the game doesn't have much to show for in terms of visual fidelity and physics. But they pushed all the satisfaction buttons when it comes to shooting and competitive feeling. I just wish the Riot would break a bit more from the Counter-Strike mold, I hate being stopped in place when getting shot.
Mixer (Microsofts Twitch-competitor) is full of people playing/streaming games like Valorant and Warzone, Overwatch etc... meh, def. not my kind of game and I feel my brain cells dying if I spend more than 15 seconds watching. But that's just my opinion.
