|

Quote: | With “Mission: Impossible – Fallout” having become both the most acclaimed and successful movie at the box-office for the long-running action franchise, Paramount Pictures is doubling down on the formula that works.
To that end Variety reports that Christopher McQuarrie, who penned and directed both the fifth film (‘Rogue Nation’) and last year’s sixth entry, has signed a deal to return to write and direct the next two films.
In addition, the plan is for both films to be shot back-to-back (ala the last two “Avengers”). The seventh will premiere Summer 2021 and the eighth will hit in Summer 2022. The release in 2021/2022 also avoids conflict with Paramount and Cruise’s “Top Gun: Maverick” opening in 2020.
McQuarrie had been meeting for a handful of other projects lately including the Tom Clancy spin-off “Without Remorse”. McQuarrie will now look to start writing the two ‘Mission’ scripts while Cruise films “Top Gun: Maverick”. The studio aims to begin filming before year’s end. |

He's very physically active, rich af and has access to the best nutritionists, doctors and plastic surgeons.
Also he's high on his quest to become Cleared Theta Clear and I bet he's one of those people who gets blood transfusions from little kids.

1 and 2 are still amazing.

The fact they are shooting two at once should tell you they know Cruise's age will inevitably be an issue at some point not that far in the future.

Hayley Atwell joins the cast for Mi:7! (maybe 8 too, who knows)

Quote: | Writer-director Christopher McQuarrie shared a tease on Instagram Friday, and The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed Atwell is joining Tom Cruise in the next installment. "Should you choose to accept..." McQuarrie captioned a photo of Atwell Friday. For her part, Atwell responded, "Mission: Accepted. Though I’m not the sort to follow orders..." |

Atwell might be the villain and Ferguson should have a bike race against her.
1 and 2 are still amazing.

Atwell confirms she's the female lead in both 7 & 8! https://www.instagram.com/p/B2Ugz6eApBb/
Quote: | I’m thrilled to have joined @tomcruise and @christophermcquarrie for the next TWO Mission Impossible movies. To have gone from a classical play in the west-end to an audio book recording of a great new novel to a Disney/Marvel animation and now the female lead in a huge action franchise is the kind of variety that fuels my curiosity and keeps me learning and striving to be better and do better. |

Henry Czerny returns as Eugene Kittridge from MI1! in both 7 & 8.
https://www.thewrap.com/henry-czerny-to-return-as-eugene-kittridge-in-next-two-mission-impossible-films/
Quote: | The next two “Mission: Impossible” films will feature a character not seen since the first film in the franchise. Director Christopher McQuarrie revealed on Saturday that Henry Czerny will return as Eugene Kittridge.
“There is no escaping the past…,” McQuarrie wrote on Twitter on Saturday.
Kittridge was the head of the IMF in the first film and spends the majority of the time hunting down Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt, who is suspected of being a mole. He eventually works with Hunt to apprehend the real mole, Jim Phelps (Jon Voight). |

2020 says "Hello!"
Quote: | Christopher McQuarrie’s upcoming seventh “Mission: Impossible” film has been hit by a major setback as a complicated stunt involving a motorcycle went horribly wrong.
According to The Sun, the scene takes place in a quarry and is described as a “snow scene”. Tom Cruise was heading to the quarry to film the sequence when a stuntman’s motorcycle exploded after taking off from a ramp.
Nobody was injured but the incident cost the production a lot of time and money as a huge fire erupted on the set. The sequence is also said to have taken six weeks to prepare and construct and is among one of the most expensive ever filmed in the United Kingdom. A source tells the outlet:
“When it came to the big day, it went horribly wrong. The idea was for the stuntman to land on some huge pillows filled with card to cushion the blow, while the bike safely crashed to the ground a few metres away.
Unfortunately, it was miscalculated. The heat and the friction of the tyres meant that when the bike crashed, the cardboard padding sparked and went up in flames. The smoke was so bad they had to close a nearby RAF airfield.
Fortunately, nobody was hurt but it’s a total catastrophe, not to mention extremely expensive for all concerned. Tom is very frustrated. Nobody wants more delays.”
Fire and safety crews were dispatched and the set has been temporarily shut down as executives are trying to figure out exactly what went wrong. The film was already delayed by months as most Hollywood productions have been shut down due to the global pandemic. |

They have insurance for this kind of stuff. And it’s like they need to hurry. Theaters won’t open anytime soon.

I don't see myself doing that.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

Haha yeah he's a proper adrenaline junkie, there's no remedy to that. Doesn't help that he thinks he's got Xenu's blessing and protection xD
It's not too different from the morbose attraction to speed and danger that many professional drivers have. Just take Valentino Rossi for instance, when he isn't on a bike risking his life at 40+ you can find him pushing all sorts of motorized vehicles to their limit with no regards for safety (often injuring himself as well in the process), yet he just can't help it.

I think he means insurance for production delays. That was the issue being described there at least, the waste of time.
