Quote:
MPs are to get their say on Mrs May's Brexit deal on Tuesday - five weeks after the vote was postponed because the government seemed likely to lose.

I didnt read the deal, so I cant say. But do some people honestly expect to be able to negociate a better deal? EU is in the stronger position here.

I read that the EU has already put work in motion as if the UK will be splitting with no deal.

Anyone saying "no deal and exit from EU" is a retard that doesn't have a clue what that would mean for UK and its citizens for short term, first and foremost, but also long-term.

Wow, I really want to see those £350.000.000 per week that they were talking of and it pouring back into the NHS. Maybe that could fix some of those dental problems over there.

At least the mass immigration to the UK will stop once the country(ies) gon' end up knee deep in it's own shit, economically & financially speaking.

So you take one, you give one ... it's the perfect balance!

I really don't give a damn what these island people decide.
It's supposed to be bad for our economy, but we'll see... there are more people needed now for bordercontrol and food inspection and shit, so it's not all bad.

Financial services are not included here of course.

A no-deal Brexit is going to hurt the UK and the big EU (including Switzerland, Norway) trading partners the most.

Two weeks ago the Dutch minister of healthcare (and some other departments) issued a warning to hospitals and such to check their medical supplies (X-ray machines, drugs, prosthetics, etc.). Of the 6.6 billion € spend on this yearly, 2 billion € in supplies come from the UK. And there are about 500000 individual items. A no-deal Brexit means supplies can't be ordered from the UK until these items are recertified. Crazy stuff!

I've seen you ( and some others in my entourage ) say that before, why do you think it won't happen ?
Do you think the EU can't go through with it ? That the UK will back-pedal ?

Indeed, and that is just looking at it from the pov of the UK. For Belgium, the UK is the 4th biggest trade partner. So it's basically bad for all EU-countries, not just the biggest players.
Still, bad situations always offer new opportunities. The economies will need to shift and this will take some time. But it won't be the end of the world.

If anything, we had a good laugh, not? Laughing

If May's will be accepted then we'll wait for ages and ages and then a new vote will appear with the same choices. I for one can't stand EU.

It's a no confidence vote against the government (not just the PM).
The most likely outcome seems to be a no-deal Brexit, I hope I am wrong.

Edit: https://twitter.com/lisaocarroll/status/1085264947188256769

Lemme speculate: Government survives, May goes to Brussels for more reassurances. (You heard it before, right?)
By the end of March nothing significant has happened to change course.

Edit: Nalo look around a bit for a wedding ring. Razz

Didn't they put in motion that thing that you stay an EU citizen once you obtained that status?
Haven't followed it other than the survey they had what people thought of it.

I find the circus mildly amusing .

Brits have been properly conditioned and brainwashed now since the last time it passed. Make UK great again! Funny thing to say as a Norwegian, but i've always admired the country UK was. Be proud of yourself and be willing to suffer some short term losses for long term gains.

"Short term losses" Laughing
It will take decades before it is clear if any gains are there to be found. Every economist agrees here with the only dissent being from politically motivated assholes—you know, the ones that sold brexit in the first place.

And what are the supposed long term gains? As I see it, Britain has been a bane on the world and on themselves for the most part since Tatcherism and people continue to believe those same idiotic ideals that have made them poorer and working harder in a complete downward spiral coupled with an excessive need for economic growth for decades. Now they somehow believe they can return to a form of nationalistic autonomy and idealised former glory just because leaving the evil EU will suddenly make the neoliberal policies go away that were inventend and implemented in Britain first.

Thats probably what people who think they are educated, but really are either brainwashed or have an „agenda“ ( Laughing ) would say.
