République is a stealth-based action game being developed by a bunch of people who worked on Metal Gear Solid, Halo and F.E.A.R. Kickstarter goal is $500,000.

"Update #10:

David Hayter and Jennifer Hale Join The Cast of République!
Posted about 14 hours ago

As someone who is a HUGE Metal Gear and Mass Effect fan, today I’m proud to reveal that David Hayter (freakin’ Solid Snake!) and Jennifer Hale (freakin’ all the women in all of videogames!) will lend their vocal talents to République.

Hayter will play the role of the head revolutionary in the world of République, and Hale will voice the role of “The Mentor” – a complex character who knows Hope better than anyone. Having these two rock star voice actors reunite in République is incredible! Plus, we've updated the $500 pledge tier today, and both David Hayter and Jennifer Hale will also be signing the République posters! For more details about this announcement, check out the video interviews Ryan and Victor Lucas did with both of them."

Probably not going to make the Kickstarter pledge - less than halfway there with 7 days left. Sad

Although:

"We estimate that République will cost north of $1 million to complete. After months of meetings and due diligence, we believe that we can raise the necessary additional funds to complete République from potential outside investors, but there is some risk that our efforts will be unsuccessful. Before we enter into any financial agreements, we want to prove through Kickstarter that there is a market for a serious AAA mobile game. While we may eventually have to share future profits from the game in order to finance development costs, we have no intention of sacrificing quality, creative control or IP ownership."

they did fatal mistake with no PC version on start, yea,I can somewhat understand it though, they wanted to focus on iOS and even if it stayed exclusive I were still hoped for it to succeed ,just won't backed it,I really feel sorry for them though,so I decided to help them with the game, and still hoping for some miracle to happen, but I don't think it will, though they did some good decisions towerds the end,but it seems it's too late..

no way I'm contributing to them to make what is essentially a demo for something that might not even get made. Yeah, you take that risk with *any* kickstarter but at least with most you're funding the game itself and not just a demo for potential investors

They got it backwards. First make the game for PC and then port to IOS. They don't deserve any money. Apple fags. PC gamers are the largest contributor to Kickstarter projects. With Republique it felt like that they to announce it for PC so they could get more donations and not as a natural developement springing forth from themselves.

They keep spinning the same bullshit line about "PC coming soon!", they haven't even finished the iOS version yet, still on Episode 3 (of 5!) if I'm not mistaken. Most likely the reason for the ridiculous delay and extended development is that they ran out of money and couldn't afford full-time development to continue the game.

Another Kickstarter "success", I'm afraid. Backers pay for a PC version, like Star Command, and get fucked.
