|
 |
Quote: | Amazon and Paramount Television are developing a TV series adaptation of Paul W.S. Anderson’s super gory and still impressively production designed 1997 sci-fi horror film “Event Horizon”.
Philip Eisner penned the film in which a spaceship that disappeared after testing an experimental gravity drive re-appears years later in orbit around Neptune.
A rescue crew and the gravity drive’s inventor are sent to investigate, only to discover that the ship traveled to a dimension outside of the known universe, one that’s essentially Hell, and it infects the ship with a sinister sentience which leads to multiple gross deaths. Laurence Fishburne, Sam Neill, Jack Noseworthy, Kathleen Quinlan, Sean Pertwee, Jason Isaacs and Joely Richardson starred.
Adam Wingard (“The Guest,” “You’re Next”) is set to executive produce and direct the potential series once he fully finishes up work on “Godzilla vs. Kong” due for release in March next year. |

Well...... not sure it needs a TV-series. What would it be about? The same thing most likely and the movie is awesome as it is.

Maybe they'll show what actually happened on that ship. Like a prequel.

Cool.
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."

Whatever they plan to do, the show *must* retain the zero_fucks_given 90s grittiness. Any attempt at sanitizing it would just turn it into generic sci-fi, and we already have plenty of those

Yeah, Pandorum was good. Not as great as Event Horizon but definitely worth a watch or three (I've still got it on the long-term storage unit).

Same.
What would be nice is if they'd expand on the horrors, flesh them out and maybe add an extra layer of eeriness with different planes of consciousness like it was implied on the original film. Heck, they can do it as weird as they want!

In the original the crew just proceeded to cutting and fucking the shit out of each other. Fucking in particular, see the collector's DVD for a glimpse of cut scenes, not the ones on YT. Anderson sais they shot em but it was over the top.
So there's two ways for the show: They slowly descend into the madness and it's basically one season. And it can be beautiful.
Or they introduce a way of fighting the madness and it becomes a multi-season crap drama.
Also the important part of EH is that we secretely ejoy people dying in fun ways and if they remove that part it's not EH anymore.
Today I didn't even need to use my AK. I gotta say it was a good day. (c) - Ice Cube

I don't see why it should be a prequel. Just make something similar in tone to it and it will be cool.

Will this have anything close to the budget (estimated $1bn us dollar) of the Lord of the Rings show? I guess it depends on how much Bezos loves this or not
