No amount of blur will hide the fact that neither the ships receive lighting nor the lasers generate any lighting >:O If I fire a rocket through a tunnel I want that tunnel to be illuminated properly

They are calling it game assets trailer probably because the engine/HUD/levels isn't ready AT ALL. Just the 3d models and some effects in some orchestrated video.
the movements look really unnatural
it's clearly a cg trailer
you can't really judge any visuals on that - nor could you any engine at this early stage
i'm immediately put off by the fact that i know these faces from star citizen related stuff
and that thing still doesn't exist
nope
I was somewhat interested until I read the "multiplayer is the heart of Descent: Underground" part, with single player maybe coming as a gimmick (stretch goal). I guess it's inevitable these days, powered by clouds, with the life of a grumpy lone wolf getting harder and harder.
Descent: Underground – New patch significantly improves AI
Quote:
Descendent Studios released a significant artificial intelligence (AI) update for its reboot of the classic 1990s FPS, Descent. As the press release reads, this patch features Moon Collider’s advanced Kythera AI system, cooperative play against “bot” opponents, new ship types, and additional gameplay enhancements.
Moon Collider’s Kythera AI is renowned in the gaming industry for powering some of the most challenging AI opponents in games with unique gameplay requirements. In Descent: Underground drones navigate complex, maze-like maps in which “up” is relative! Moon Collider swiftly integrated Kythera into Unreal Engine 4 to power Descent: Underground’s rich and diverse stable of robotic enemies.
Seems like they abandoned the Underground subtitle
