]Barry is a dark comedy starring Bill Hader as a depressed, low-rent hitman from the Midwest. Lonely and dissatisfied in his life, he reluctantly travels to Los Angeles to execute a hit on an aspiring actor. Barry follows his “mark” into an acting class and ends up finding an accepting community in a group of eager hopefuls within the LA theater scene. He wants to start a new life as an actor, but his criminal past won’t let him walk away —can he find a way to balance both worlds?
The first season is over (8 episodes, very binge-friendly), it was a surprisingly enjoyable one in my opinion. There's comedy, but also genuinely dark resolutions that create an awkward mood with plenty of unexpected moments starring a g̶o̶o̶d̶ terrible human being
The acting is solid from everyone (with Hader absolutely nailing the duality of the character), same for the direction and pacing, especially the last two episodes where things escalate brilliantly quickly xD
It's difficult to tell where the crazy adventure will eventually lead to, thankfully it's certain that there will be a continuation since season two has already been confirmed. [Starting...now!]
For me by far the best episode of Barry (although I also liked the king of suckballs episode ) The lunacy of the episode though
I don't find the series very laughable (I'm not that into US comedy ) but certainly a good watch and enjoyable.
The second season as a whole definitely lived up to the expectations with its top-notch acting, directing job (once again by Hader himself) and writing. The best aspect of the show is how it switches back and forth between comedy and drama, you're always left hanging in surprisingly brilliant ways. I'm glad it was renewed, that glorious cliffhanger needs to get resolved...or maybe not!
Just finished the first season, this is a very easily watchable show. It doesn't bore you or annoy you, it shifts tone from light-hearted to very dark, it is a tragicomedy with a likeable anti-hero I guess
The episodes are short and don't outstay their welcome, all characters shine, great cast.
It is a good show, however I don't care for the overdone acting subplot. I realize it's necessary to create conflict and move everything forward, but I feel like they could have picked a more interesting and less pretentious hobby for him. Can't stand that Gene Cousineau character.

“Barry,” HBO’s six-time Emmy-winning dark comedy starring “Saturday Night Live” alum Bill Hader, will return for an eight-part third season on April 24th
Took em a while - three fucking years for fucks sake. Is Hollywood going the British route now? Fun show, but I've long since forgotten where we left off.
