World
The Earth in a far distant future.
Although the reasons are unclear, multitudes of negative elements saturate the world, leaving the earth on the brink of ruin.
The poisons from the atmosphere swirl along the ground, and the biosphere has become so warped that even the concept of time has been broken. The human race faces extinction from being unable to cope with the bizarrely evolving ecosystem.
The remnants of humanity band together to build and place ‘Basel’, a huge machine that normalizes the environment. Basel functionality to normalize things also included controlling living things. That also included controlling the life cycles of people, reducing and exhausting humans as mere seeds.
The remaining humans gathered around Basel and continued their existence. In time, the humans gained entrance into the machine and created living spaces and even a town. Though these actions had consequences, causing the gradual erosion of Basel’s functionality.
The descendants of the original builders huddled in their self-contained worlds, repeating the mistakes of their ancestors.

I liked this game, I wanted to play the new game+ on the PS3 to uograde my guns and loots etc but the blu ray drive died some time ago. I've been hoping for a working emu of this game ever since but if this actually comes to the PC, even better!.
Maybe all the 4k cutscenes eat up a lot of that space as 83 gigs does seem pretty big.
This, like a lot of Japanese games from the ps3 era it's full of prerendered cutscenes they only rly started using mostly ingame cutscenes this gen and dual audio (game has full jap audio/text support) and bad/no compression on the upscaled movie files makes them even bigger.

This was a challenging project for us since not only did we remaster it as an HD version, but we fully committed to taking it to 4K resolution. In order to make the pre-rendered movies 4K, we had to utilize ‘deep learning’ our proprietary technology in order to up-rez. We also strived to maintain 60 frames per second at 4K resolution.
We took special care with the textures to improve their quality. Take a look at the hair carefully to get a sense of this. Not only did we make Leane better, but check out Vashyron’s silky locks as well. We also all really enjoyed being able to see the expressions on the characters as they are traversing the environment.
While working on the remaster, it really brought back how atmospheric the original game was, so we really made an effort to retain that by showing how the passage of time affects the backgrounds, fog effects, light sources and shadows, and reworking the camera angles. The stellar quality of the original movies really shine through with the improved resolutions.
We also fixed made sure to fix some old bugs and improved the load times to make for a better game playing experience. It’s a remaster that still has over 100 hours of gameplay with a dynamic engaging battle system that we hope you’ll enjoy. We’ve enjoyed remastering a game that allows players to have their own play style, customization and ingenuity to get through the game.
60gb of textures youll likely have to put side by side of the regular ones to notice? No tnx
Again it's certainly not 60GB of textures only games with mega texturing use that much space for the textures so just like FFXV it will be 50GB of upscaled 4K video files and maybe around 10GB of actual higher res assets.
There's only about 2 FMV videos in the game though from my findings so far although it does have tons of assets for clothing customization and if the textures are in full quality as 4096x4096 BC7 then that's going to be a big download although 60 GB sounds heavy even if they have a hundred or so clothing options.
