The sequel to Shadow of Mordor is called Shadow of War. Warner Bros. hasn’t quite announced this yet, but Target spilled the news early along with the box art and some info.

Nice leak Target Laughing

Wow looks legit but I cant believe there has been no announcement and the game is scheduled for release in August 2017!?

Aww delayed to October 10th :/

https://community.wbgames.com/t5/Official-Announcements/Middle-earth-Shadow-of-War-will-now-launch-worldwide-on-Oct-10/m-p/1533762#M16

Quote:
Middle-earth: Shadow of War will now launch worldwide on Oct. 10, 2017**.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War expands gameplay in every dimension, including the massive open world, the story, the RPG systems, and personal player stories of the Nemesis System. As with Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, Monolith is committed to delivering the highest quality experience. In order to do this, we have made the difficult decision to move our launch date to ensure that Middle-earth: Shadow of War will deliver on that promise.

We understand that it might be disappointing to have to wait a little longer for the release and are sorry for the delay, but we are working hard to make an amazing game. We’re excited to show more at E3.

http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2017/07/06/middleearth-shadow-of-war-save-transfer-from-mordor-lets-you-bring-your-nemesis-over/

Quote:
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today announced the Nemesis Forge, a new update for Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor that will allow a player to bring their top Nemesis and Follower from Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor to Middle-earth: Shadow of War when it releases on October 10, 2017. In Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, players created countless personal stories of revenge through the unique enemies and allies generated by the Nemesis System. With the Nemesis Forge, these stories continue in Middle-earth: Shadow of War by importing a returning player’s arch Nemesis from Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, while also identifying a player’s most loyal Orc follower, who can help fight and defend against Sauron’s forces. The Nemesis Forge is now available for Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Steam.

I played for about 4 hours and it’s pretty awesome as expected. It really is a lot like the first game but that’s not a bad thing in my opinion. It plays and looks surprisingly good on my PS4 Poor and 1080p tv so it will probably even better on a PS4 Pro with 4K and HDR (one day I will have this!) ...

There’s a lot to do in the game with a fucking massive map which is primarily shrouded in darkness but opens up as things progress and the combat is enjoyable as ever with some fun stealth play!

Due to the various gameplay mechanics and upgrades there is plethora of button combinations to try and remember and although there are plenty of on screen reminders I’m sure it will become more like second nature the more I play it.

The only thing that bothered me is it’s not completely open world in the fact that there a many huge areas but it’s not possible to walk between them and having to use fast travel is the only way, and I hate fast travel in any game! This to me makes the game feel less open world than Shadow of Mordor but apparently the game is 3 to 5 times the size of the original. The areas I’ve been in though are pretty massive I have to say.

I also like the loot system as it gives it a Destiny vibe with legendary gear available to obtain and equip Smile

Despite this it’s a lot of fun to play and is definitely a solid 9/10 in my opinion.
