Quote:
Henry Cavill‘s Superman will fly solo again in a sequel to “Man of Steel” going into active development at Warner Bros., a person familiar with the project told TheWrap.

I mean Man of Steel is the best received DCEU movie, so why not?

I'm one of the few who seems to have liked the first Man of Steel. I didn't like all of it but I really liked the action scenes. That's ultimately what I want from a Superman movie, I want to see him rescuing people, flying around and fighting, that's all I need. His character is boring, his love interest is boring, all they need to do is supply a shitload of action scenes and I'll be entertained.

I typically prefer movies that have more than just action going on of course but with Superman that's all I'm really interested in because now we have the technology to properly showcase Superman in all his godly glory. Smile

Wow, I think I've rarely (if ever) agreed with you on stuff in this sub-forum but on this one seems we are on the same frequency Very Happy

Looking forward to this sequel, though I don't require Mr. Snyder to be the director again.

Yep, pretty much the only thing I like about MoS is the awesome display of Kryptonian abilities.

Faora demolishing soldiers was amazing.

The first Man of Steel was quite a good movie but they've already done all the cool aspects of superman.

I would rather watch a reboot, a TV show or nothing at all.

Ditching Snyder, would be the first step in right direction

Sources tell us that Kingsman: The Secret Service filmmaker Matthew Vaughn is Warner Bros.’ top choice to direct Man of Steel 2, and preliminary conversations about the prospect have taken place. This isn’t yet in the deal-making stage, and Vaughn could very well end up not directing the film, but he’s who Warner Bros. wants at this point in time. Moreover, sources tell us that if Vaughn for some reason doesn’t direct Man of Steel 2, Warner Bros. still wants him to helm another superhero movie in the DCEU.

Vaughn's 2010 comment on how a Superman movie should be:

Quote:
“I think that’s the one thing not to do with Superman, trying to do the serious The Dark Knight version. Superman is about color and fun,or it should be, for me.”

He brought the X-Men back, so why not. I'm in.

Terrible choice.
He would do a really good superman movie. A really visual superman movie.
But it won't fit the DCEU. So no point.

Have him do a different superhero movie. Not something that'll standout from the DCEU grimdark tone. DCEU needs consistency. Not throwing shit at a wall and hoping something would stick.

But if the movie is a success then DC will redo their whole thing and then maybe they finally have hope again.

They squandered so much money into it.

@WaldoJ,

I think Vaughn is smart enough to both experiment and stay within DCEU.

Generally speaking, what's important right now is to give capable directors chances without worrying too much about the already existing tone because given the case with the previous movies, I don't think DCEU fans would care too much if the tone is even reset.

I think right now the fans are adamant to just have some proper, successful movies than anything else.

Grimdark isn't going to be a thing any more anyway. The order came once BvS underperformed because it wasn't "fun" enough.
