Created by Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona, the Runaways comics feature a group of teenagers who discover that their parents are part of an evil crime organization.

Hulu has ordered "a pilot plus additional scripts with an eye toward a full-season greenlight".

The comic series was one of Marvel's better original titles in recent years and Nico Minoru is probably the best character from the series so it will be interesting to see this pilot and at least it is not on DisneyXD or something. I am not familiar with Hulu original shows though so do not know if they do well with special effects stuff so hopefully we do not end up with bad CGI for the characters.
I am not familiar with Hulu's shows either. Taking a look here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_original_programs_distributed_by_Hulu I can see they expanded to dramas (from the cheap ass comedies they used to make) only this year. I suppose 11.22.63 must be their most expensive show. Googling that title + "production value" I read good things about how it looked which is encouraging.

Great... Parents are the enemy. Are they somehow born from a hideous immaterium thus devious alien ba*tards? I'd be sold.
One of them is an alien if that helps any. They each have abilities or powers they discover quickly when they go on the run from their parents and eventually take up their super hero codenames and get a pet dinosaur named Old Lace.
might be fun .... and the character ideas are nice
Quote:
Alex Wilder is the brains of the operations, able to solve problems quickly and translate the ancient text detailing the Pride’s complex history. His parents control the police like a mob boss, and it’s Alex who discovered the secret tunnel that led the other Runaways to discovering their parents’ true colors.
Chase Stein is initially introduced as the jock type, but he quickly becomes a key asset to the team. He provides their secret hideaway when they’re forced to go underground, steals his parents’ tech (which can easily rival Tony Stark’s arsenal), and becomes adept at using a pair of “Fistigons,” or flame-generating gauntlets.
Gertrude Yorkes is sarcastic and cynical, dons purple hair, and she has telepathic control over a genetically engineered dinosaur named Old Lace that her time-traveling parents gifted her.
Nico Minoru is the daughter of dark wizards who has the ability to cast magic with a staff that comes out of her chest when she bleeds. She eventually becomes the team's leader.
Karolina Dean is a vegan and the child of Hollywood actors, but she soon discovers that she and her parents are aliens—hidden by a medical bracelet she’s told to never take off. Her true form and powers are a sight to behold.
Molly Hayes is the youngest of the team at 11, so everyone else tries to shelter her from the brutal nature of their parents’ villainy at first. Her parents are telepathic mutants, and Molly is capable of super strength.

Here is the matching image of the live action characters to go along with the comic shot from the first post. I still think it's amusing they made Molly Hayes Hispanic and changed her name to Hernandez now plus they aged her up which really changes the dynamic of the story.
Few familiar faces. Saw the episode 1. Wasn't so bad.
On to episode 2 and 3.
Edit: I enjoyed it. The kids are great and have an awesome chemistry. The show hits the ground running right from start. Great pacing.
Does HULU release 3 episodes weekly?
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
The season finale was just bad. Was expecting so much but nothing happened. It sets up nice for season 2 but that's going to be a long wait.
Meh.

yeah felt like whole season was one big setup or 1 long season cut midway ... but on other hand its quite nice expansion of great comic, so far thematically quite close to its story
