They did add this little Monster Train thing of adding something to a card (potentially) on top of it being upgraded, which again adds to the complexity of the game.

It's too much of the same for my taste. Not saying that it's a bad game, I just played original to death. Compared to Mewgenics, that's also a kind of deckbuilding roguelike, it's already a much more refined and better experience. But I'll rather dump a few more hours of that one instead, simply because it's fresh to me. If anyone asked, I'll advise Slay the Spire 1-2 over every other deckbuilder in an instant.
If I understand correctly, it has 3 acts in it right now. Funny thing, as I never played the first one, and made it all the way up to the 3rd act boss in my very first attempt, and got it down to around 25% health.

Game is too easy.
Same here (don't know about the % though).
I believe the first run goes super easy and smooth, to give you a "taste", then the real shit kicks in
