Beware is currently in early development. At the base, it's an open-world driving simulation where the player embarks on a long journey of information-gathering through exploration. One of the gameplay elements are intense, 70's movies style, car chases with challenging AI opponents. There are stealth element too where you can avoid being detected and explore the world undisturbed.

I will be writing a more detailed post about this. Very simply put, it's about driving from A to B while avoiding getting killed and learning what happened to the game's world and where all of it's inhabitants went. Generally speaking, as of today, there is no master plan graved in stone. I'm quite new to game development and find the non-linearity to be very exciting (and still unexplored territory IMHO). I really enjoy creating universes which unfold during the creation process, sometimes leading to completely unforeseen directions.
Very simply put, the goal is to drive from A to B, with various obstacles on the way. The goons, the terrain. I know, I'm still being kind of purposefully vague atm.
The roads are authored although I do think about procedural generation for some special scenarios.
About VR mode:
We're thinking about VR support - let's hope the technology prevails during the coming years. Also, changing the way the rear-view mirrors behave could help.

ps. I tried it and damn, it was boring as hell. I guess that is to be expected from a pre-alpha version that is still years from reaching beta (with all game features added). The driving model needs a LOT of tweaking as well. It does feel like driving a Lada on crappy Russian roads though and who the hell think that's enjoyable?

tbh from what i read this feel might be intended given the idea is based on the guys experience and feels of his family trying to run away from czeckoslovakia when commies came to pwoer
Okay. It's still very early in the development with nothing to do but drive around, getting stuck in puddles of water, hitting stuff (RV's or trees). The story events doesn't seem to work either, at least not in v007 since nothing happens in the only place there's any kind of movement.
We'll see if he get tired of working on it or if he can make some real progress and fix the annoying steering, at least for those of us using a keyboard to play. I couldn't find v008 but it seems he made a lot of progress, finally adding some interesting stuff. If he could find some content creators to help him with map design, scripting and texturing it would speed up the development.
