Kepler's days seem to be over but the search continues.
TESS will search the whole sky.

The launch is scheduled for April 16, but have been postponed a couple of times already.

Can you perhaps respond to the topic?
Or is that asking too much?

What are they hoping to discover in the sky?

I stopped watching after they showed the fake round earth CGI. This has been thoroughly debunked, yet they think people will still fall for it. Rolling Eyes

The scientists trying to promote/sell a scientific idea often show fake pictures.
The ones who are thinking those are real are stupid.

Well, I guess they're looking for extra-solar planets, their composition, atmosphere, heat radiation etc. to increase our knowledge beyond the current indirect results (tiny dark spot across a distant sun, wobbles etc.).

I've created a reply earlier and then removed it and I redid that.
And now I will leave a permanent reply.

TESS will look for more exoplanets, but ones that are closer to our home.
Main reason (I think) to make it easier for follow-up measurements.
The James Webb telescope will be looking at exoplanets for example.

Earth is round, you imbecile. It's just flat and round, not spherical.
