Hi all,

I will gift my niece my old laptop from 2015 and I'm currently preparing it.

So installing new (legal) Windows, setting up drivers, etc...

It's an i5-6200 (Skylake) with 8Gb RAM and 256Gb SSD and IPS FullHD Display (Multi-Touch).
You can fold it, so it's kinda a 2-in-1 device: tablet & laptop.

Can somebody recommend me some nice software for kiddos?

Something educational and interesting?

But no stupid games pls. Just interesting software for talented kids to further boost their abilities.

She is 11 and super intelligent. (ace at math and speaks english as well)

There's plenty of educational and interesting puzzle or adventure games, probably platformers and action/adventure too without going full on into violence, gore and the very special online gaming which is probably a digital hell zone of it's own. Razz

Strategy I suppose or tycoon or management games perhaps or maybe a mix of educational and entertainment which has also grown a lot.

Right at the threshold between E and T rated stuff too depending on what the parents feel about age restrictions and such. No idea what's popular these days though aside from Call of Duty ha ha.

Though I suppose Minecraft classic or Minecraft Win10 could be a decent start before heading into Sims and such and turning into a evil slave driver for the digital life forms in these types of games.

EDIT: I suppose it depends of it's more educational or entertainment or a mix of both. A Switch perhaps?

If she's eleven and super intelligent then why ask for kids stuff?
Just let her do whatever the fuck we did at a young age, the same shit we do today.

Nothing else needs to be played.
Open world, and its all about the puzzles. And no shitting around with story and all, its just the puzzles.
