I have used several explorer alternatives over the years but this one really surprised me with its innovative design. I suggest you use the Dark theme and the Column mode for starters.

Thanks XYplorer for getting your keyboard shortcuts messed up so Enter doesn't work, I would never find that otherwise Laughing

I prefer this one - Total Commander. Been using it in various forms since early 90s Razz

Edit: But I will take a look at the one you posted - seem to have some nice options.

Heh, yes, these are the total opposites, Total Commander is old-school based on the ideology and look of the very good File Manager of win 3.1 and crams all sorts of features that it has amassed over the years.

One Commander is in a different style, more modern, created for huge widescreen monitors.

Totalcmd has nothing related to Win 3.1 file manager, it is a clone of Norton Commander. Rather arhaic and it shows (you just can't find a proper font to look good, I had to settle with Calibri/11/bold), no matter the recent slight facelift, but it just works damn it Very Happy

But yes, totally opposite of Windows Explorer. I use Explorer only for the most basic operations (i.e. simple file copy/move) because it feels like my hands are tied. Totalcmd just has so much useful features (thorough search engine, super-useful multi-rename tool etc) and shortcuts, i.e. Ctrl+B for flat folder view, Ctrl+D for folder bookmarks, Alt+F1/F2 for fast drive switching, Alt+Arrow for back/forward, Ctrl+Arrow for opening folder in the opposite pane, Ctrl+T/W for tabbed view etc. Never regretted paying for it.

Far Manager is inspired by Norton Commander, also has plugins etc:

I also found this, the win version of GNU Midnight Commander

Yeah, thats why I find it interesting. The Widescreen part that is. I also like the fact that you can instantly view pictures.

This thing fails miserable, first of all I can't access my Android tablet from this because it doesn't support that protocol that Windows uses. Also I can't drag'n'drop stuff from 7zip to a folder in One Commander, it says source not found...

I use Total Commander for now, which supports MTP and drag'n'drop from 7zip.
