COMPUTER PROCESSING UNIT(CPU);-
CPUs that are pretty much hopeless:
Intel Pentium III or earlier
Intel Celerons clocking at less than 1.2GHz (I'm unfamiliar with earlier Celerons - do these even exist?)
AMD Duron

CPUs that should be able to run, but not well:
Intel Celeron (Note: all recent low-end Intel CPUs are Celerons. The ones I'm talking about are less than 4 years old, and runs on the Pentium 4 core.)
AMD Athlon

CPUs that probably won't run VERY well, but will run ok:
Intel Pentium 4 1.5GHz-2GHz
Intel Celeron 2.4GHz
Intel Pentium M ~1.1Ghz
Intel Celeron M ~1.2GHz
AMD Athlon XP 2400+ or lower
AMD Sempron 2200+

CPUs that shouldn't have problems:
Intel Pentium 4 2.0GHz - 2.66GHz
Intel Celeron 2.4Ghz - 2.8GHz
Intel Pentium M 1.2Ghz - 1.6GHz
AMD Athlon XP 2500+ - 3000+
AMD Sempron 2400+ - 2800+
AMD Athlon 64 3000+

Ideal CPUs:
Intel Pentium 4 2.8GHz or above
Intel Pentium M 1.6GHz or above
Intel Pentium EE or better
AMD Athlon XP 3200+
AMD Sempron 3100+
AMD Athlon 64 (any model)
AMD Athlon FX series or better

RAM;-
Even those among us who are not fortunate enough to be nerds know that RAM is important. Without sufficient RAM, frame rates and response speed will drop, while loading times will soar. While it probably has less of an effect that the graphics card on the frame rate, even having a top graphics card won't help you run the game if you only have 128MB.

The minimum requirements for BFME called for 256MB system memory. BFME2 will probably require twice of that - if you are lucky. Even if the minimum specs are put at 256MB, running with 256 or even 512MB would result in long loading times and performance that can hardly be called acceptable. A clean Windows XP SP2 system easily takes up 300MB of system memory without the additional help of programs eating RAM, and systems with 256MB RAM are highly unlikely to run any modern games.

It's not worthy of a purchase since it's EA, I might download it though.

Nice thread froid! I like the hardware performance guide for the people wondering how the game will run on their systems. I was able to decide that my AMD64 3400+ and 6800GT should be sufficient!

Hmmm ... Platform: PC, XBOX 360? This game is being released on the Xbox360? Cool!

May the NFOrce be with you always.

Too bad it take place during the time of the ring and end of the third age.
Thought someone said the second one was going to take place during the first battles, with Morgoth, Ungoliant etc

That's one of the weakest things I have ever read on this forum concerning a game.

I loved BFME1, own it, BFME2 gonna be great as well, having no doubts whatsoever.

Have you been in my head lately? Razz

So fucking true!! Where is the revolution? Only ww2 shooters, rts with grouping and upgrading facilities, mmorpgs on the same 'cast level 44...'etc..etc...

I will make my personal request Very Happy

MMOFPS! Grap your gun, wonder in the jungle/wilderness/wrecked town and trade bullets/kevlar/guns/n-googles/etc with other players. Take missions to quest a hill, kill a vip, group with other players to defeat a fortressed army and get their weapons/money/etc...

Am I asking toooooooooooooo much????? Laughing

The game doesn't judder when you have low FPS like most games, it just goes alot slower. Which is obviously whats happening with your mediocre computer.

***SPOILER ALERT***

Played the demo and loved it!!! This game is going to win RTS GOTY.....wait maybe I should hold off on that prediction until Rise of Legends comes out. I love Star Wars but Empires at War is pwned by BFMEII. I have a x1600 256mb and at 1024x768 I was able to run it on Ultra with no slowdown at all and it was absolutely gorgeous!! I had over 900 units as well. It was so weird playing with a different race other than Rohan or Gondor! The Dwarves are pretty good and diverse. I loved the castle catapult and upgrades. The castle catapult fires a huge lobbing fire bomb at an area you choose. It reminded me of the Egyptian meteor shower form AOM except it's all in one shot not multiple shots leaving the ground smoldering and cracked. I am not sure on it's distance though. The walls were done very well too. You would have to start your walls by building a wall hub. From there you can expand your walls to where ever you want. But you cannot put your archers on your walls Sad, the only bummer. I can deal with that though. You can put archers in your towers along with axe throwers. I liked how the game did the cap limit. It's based on how many mines you have. I had mines every where even if they were below 10% LOL!! The archers have a cool bombard option that sets a certain chosen area on fire from their arrows! Enemies are burned or killed when they walk through it. In my game the fire wasn't always evident. I hope they fix that as it should be like an inferno! They also have a fear arrow that when shot and connects that monster runs away!! Animation was excellent and the music was exactly what you would expect for a LOTR title. I was only playing it on easy to get to know the game. I will have to play on medium tonight. The only thing I didn't do was use a hero. I just didn't have enough cap room when I decided to try them. One thing I didn't like was that I could not repair anything. Buildings and walls would repair by themselves over time. But I hoped they would have put a repair option on your builder unit or the building or wall itself like in BFME. No biggy though. The Goblins can climb over your walls which I thought was awesome, just like the FOTR. I had no problems with money. They seem to have that figured out. But I was astonished at how few power allocation points I had. Probably because I was playing easy and didn't have as many battles as I would in medium difficulty. I only used up 20 and must have played for 2 hours. There are 3 first level powers at 5 points each. The 2nd tier is 10 and so on. If you stay in your base and defend and grow your army, a game could take 5-10 hours if you waned it to easily. Also, probably 5 hours into a game on easy you will have all points allocated to your powers. I will give the game a 9 out 10. For a demo I see no need for improvements other than the wall/archer dilemma and the missing repair icons, but I can live with out that. If the final game has those items I will give it a 10 out of 10. If you haven't played it yet, what are you waiting for, start downloading!

March cannot come fast enough!
