Friend just ordered a pc in parts for about ~1350€ in germany and I'd be happy if you guys could take a quick look!
Machine will be mostly for gaming at gsync'd 1080p (although a 4K display is available as well) and later some audio and video recording, but not at a grand scale where lots of raw cpu power would be vital.

~490€
8GB Gainward GeForce GTX 1080 Phoenix Aktiv PCIe 3.0 x16 (Retail)
Prices for the 1070 were almost the same

~190€
ryzen 1600 boxed
similarly priced new intel seemed unavailable

~145€
Asus Prime X370-Pro AMD X370 So.AM4 Dual Channel DDR4 ATX Retail

~190€
16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX LP schwarz DDR4-3200 DIMM CL16 Dual Kit

~90€
500 Watt be quiet! Straight Power 10 CM Modular 80+ Gold

~80€
250GB Samsung 850 Evo 2.5" (6.4cm) SATA 6Gb/s TLC Toggle (MZ-75E250B/EU)

~55€
2000GB Seagate BarraCuda ST2000DM006 64MB 3.5" (8.9cm) SATA 6Gb/s

~70€
Fractal Define R5 Black

~375€
Acer Predator XB241Hbmipr
1080p gsync monitor, not included in total price above. This sound like a strange combination with a 1080.

Just look for reviews of said PSU, there will probably be a mention in there somewhere.

Cool Smile
I don't have any good experience with BeQuiet either actually. One died, 1st replacement died the first day or two and the 2nd now after a longer while starts to make weird rattling noises. Laughing

its a good system, psu is ok too. its not bad (though im personally not a fan of be quiet, a few bad experiences with it. but every other psu could fail too. its a bit pricey for what it offers, 70 euros would be fair tbh). would say if its not ordered yet go for a corsair vengeance 500 or if your friend wants it modular the 550m

the predator g-sync monitor doenst sound strange with the 1080, cause its a 144hz panel. do the math what power is needed for 144fps instead of 60 in fullhd compared for example to a 60hz wqhd or even 4k display. imho 144hz @ fullhd is a better experience than 60@hz at wqhd. 4k capable system would be much more expensive (1080ti needed etc)

Ok, since my friend has already ordered, he is not too willing to change PSU's at this point, because his research didn't make them seem so bad. I won't buy one when I upgrade though, so your hints shall not die in vain!

Actually I forgot about higher frame rates, so yeah. 60Hz or a little more at 4k would make some sense to me with some proper low persistence mode, but that option doesn't exist atm. So, thanks for reminding me Laughing

Feedback on the parts list seems fine so far Smile
