Is it just me?, but I do love getting hands-on with command line stuff, like it used to be.
Now my typing skills are long gone, but I really do find myself more longing for the ways of old, the BASIC language, which one had to enter loads of data just to get a very small result, up to the good old DOS days, and the sparse Linux I learnt at College.
I miss it, I do.
Did one know, that if you enter 'whoami' in CP, it tells you who you are? lol
This why I like OS X so much. Great GUI+terminal integration.
I even launch most of the apps via abbreviations with Spotlight thingy. In the Dock keep only apps that show notification bubbles and text editors as OS X allows you to drag documents on apps in there
bring back to cmdline? Its still there, but hell NO!
PS all the way. (and if you dont know why, you shouldnt use the cmdline/PS at all)
Also: for just a "one single operation" the GUI beats the cmdlets/ legacy cmdline. You can do all you want in PS but that would be pretty stupid, since the GUI is perfect for single operations.
Also: servers have SC editions, so there you go if you want to type everything.
