It is to be directed by a couple of Norwegian directors. Could be interesting.

Thx flappy for reminding me.

1 and 3 were very good. I loved 3. 2 was filler. 4 was terrible, wtf; even the soundtrack was bad.

These two fellas worked on Kon-Tiki! That was a pretty cool movie, with some really good oceanic special effects/environmental awesomesauce. I'm quite hopeful for this one..I mean, can't be worse than #4 Razz

Isn't Will Turner suppose to be the captain of the Flying Dutchman and the fish people, since At World's End? These look exactly like those. The entire teaser gives me a terrible dejavu of the Dead Man's Chest teaser.

Here's a hoping at least the soundtrack goes back to the thematic ones from the first three. Dead Man's Chest + At World's End are one of my favorite soundtracks.

Meh.

"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

How was 2 a filler and 3 not? The movies are tied together.

That is how it works. Fillers come in between things that are tied together.

That makes the first and second part of trilogies fillers, so i disagree. I take filler to mean something that doesnt really connect with the main story, something to fill the gap, like tv shows does. The second one was no filler. The 4th is the one im most tempted calling a filler because of its content, if anything.

First movie was pretty entertaining. Everything since then has been more or less redundant.

You didn't miss much, it was the worst one yet by far. Not even Ian McShane could salvage it. Sad

Oh Ian was in it? Surprised Anyway, I forgot to add that I found this trailer quite good, but mainly because Bardem seems to fit his role as good as the hair effects looked: very well Smile

²

I had to restart watching the second movie several times because it was just more of the same but somehow less well executed. The first movie really was spot on in every way and it's like the second and third movies were made out of left-over ideas they jammed together into an entertaining but somehow superfluous sequel.

I can't remember anything about the movies. I'm pretty sure they entertained me as a popcorn flick... but they didn't leave any lasting impression.

I once visited a museum about privateers and it claimed ship decks were painted red so the crew wouldn't get demoralized when they saw blood all over the place during a battle. I can't find anything on Google backing that up though.
