Hi, kinda new to this idea of having a personal media server to stream stuff around my devices. Mostly planning to use UMS to play movies ( some 4k/hdr rips too since those are 80gb or so and got no usb stick to watch on TV via that solution) Few questions:
- how does it work? Does it create a server on the internet that anyone can access from anywhere? Or only devices connected to my home network? I got cable 100mb/s connected to my router out of which my pc ( which should be the media hub) is cable connected, rest of the devices wirelessly.
- does it 'upload' data to my tv? So the only thing that matters is how fast my router can upload irrelevant of my actual internet speed?
- would everything be good enough for 4k hdr ( bandwith wise)?
- can anyone outside of my network connect to my media server ( my pc)
- if they can, can they do anything else other than view media files?
Thanks
