Hey all

I want to digitise all my music. I want to rip my CDs and put those, plus all of my questionably obtained/ downloaded music into the cloud. I then went to play it back on my devices at my leisure, potentially downloading some of it locally to some devices, but mainly streaming via Sonos and my phone.

I remember reading that you could do this with Google Music- and that they'll work out what track it is and store it / catalog it. Apparently this worked with questionably obtained music too?

Is this still possible?
What is the best company to do this with?
Is it risky uploading "questionably obtained" MP3s? I don't want no fines.
How do they catalog the music? By the file name? Or something more clever?
Any free services or will I have to pay for storage? I've probably got 30gig ish?
Any other advice?

Worth mentioning I already pay for storage on Apple, so if I had to pay and Apple was a suitable platform, that'd get my preference.

Thanks guys!

HD

OK So I looked it up and Google Music seems to win here... massive 25k songs for free... and it doesnt sound like it's an issue uploading your "home copies"
