just a rumor

Voice actress Alix Wilton Regan has hinted that BioWare is working on the long-rumored Dragon Age 4 for PS4 and Xbox One.

Regan, who provided the voice for the female Elven inquisitor in the fantasy-RPG series, has posted up a snapshot on Instagram of her back in the recording studio, accompanied by the hashtag ‘elf.

Ugh, these "journalists". Inquisitor voices in DAI were universal, there was no specific elf voice.

I wouldn't say DA:I was a poorly written game, the main story was a bit of a let down, but overall the writing was pretty good. Compared with Andromeda, Inquisition is almost a masterpiece. Laughing Laughing

Rolling Eyes The way Bioware is going, this game will be even worse than Inquisition. I really really tried to like that game and a lot of elements were done right, but the open world felt too artificial, the "tactical camera" was a joke, skills felt underwhelming, no healing, team mates constantly got stuck in scenery, terrible AI, combat felt a real chore, far too much respawning, UI was mediocre at best, it had too many shitty MMO elements, the characters were a very mixed bunch with many being completely uninteresting, side quests being dull as hell, etc.

Compare that to Dragon Age Origins:

- the world didn't feel very open but it felt very detailed and well made
- the tactical camera was great and worked well
- there was a vast amount of skills and many worked well together
- healing added depth to combat
- AI didn't get stuck half the time - it wasn't brilliant but at least they did what you told them to
- no crappy respawning that I can recall
- a good well designed UI

Dear god, I can't imagine what the next DA game would be.

Dragon Age: Unicorns. Play as the HerdMaster, as you attempt to reconcile the Unicorns in their quests for equality and acceptance. Use your powers of flirtation to encourage the Green and Red Unicorns to combine to become the Rainbow Unicorns the world needs.

Yeah, can't wait!

There's a lot of negativity, but I think Bioware will finally learn from their mistakes this time around, they will combine the best of both worlds to give us a Dragon Age game worthy of its name!

Quote:
BioWare's next Dragon Age game is supposed to be a secret - but it isn't, really.

The project doesn't yet have a name or a formal announcement, but its existence should come as no surprise. Last September, Fallen London and Sunless Sea creator Alexis Kennedy announced his signing to a mysterious BioWare project - one which would see him working alongside Dragon Age mastermind Mike Laidlaw and lead Dragon Age scribe Patrick Weekes. To BioWare watchers, it was obvious what project the writer was joining.

His appointment was notable for a couple of reasons. Sure, it was tacit confirmation the Dragon Age team was beginning to staff up. But Kennedy himself had secured a unique position. BioWare is a Canadian company, headquartered in Edmonton. He is British, based in Greenwich, and has not relocated for the job. BioWare does not often employ remote workers, and almost never remote writers: the people who lay down the earliest brushstrokes of a game's world and its characters during the earliest and most formative of its stages.

All the better for us, though, that we could catch up with Kennedy and see how things were going. It has, to address the elephant in the room, been a trying period for his new employer. BioWare is still licking its wounds from the recent, bruising reaction to Mass Effect Andromeda. The company's next project to release will be its recently-delayed and untested new IP, codenamed Dylan. Meanwhile, Dragon Age is still in its early stages. How was he fitting in?

They should let ixi write it and create the artwork as well.

I remember how much I loved DA:O and how I was furiously wanking over every little DA2 trailer, only to be disappointed like never before, and still further tortured myself with all the ubishitty busywork coated in bland combat and retarded gender-confused characters in DA:I.

Come one EA, just give BioWare the mercy bullet already, like you did with Westwood and Bullfrog.

That's actually good news if they got someone from Sunless Sea working on the project.
