Do You guys use armrests on Your chair. If not why ?
Most of my life I was using a normal rotating office chair without armrests without even noticing it.
Some time ago I got cloth version if Ikea Markus chair. it's ok but I've noticed that Armrests are making my elbows hurt, are too low and I ten to lean on them. Also I am a fat ass and they sometimes dig up in my thighs.

Are there any health/posture benefeits to using/not using armrests ?

True but in order for chair to fit under desk when not used, armrests must be lower than desk level or adjusted all the time.
Mine are lowet and cant be adjusted. I will unscrew them tomorrow and see if its better

I've tried without armrests and holy crap its impossible lol.
How was I sitting like that as a kid for years... not sure about it but will give it few more hours.

Guess I will need to make some cushions or something.
Anyone have any idea how to add padding to ikea markus chair armrests? The hard rubber ones. Unfortunately I cannot get soft leather ones separately

Armrests are for big gaylords that are afraid the missus won't like if they leave the back of their desks 10-15cm away from the wall so they can have their arms on the top of their desks like real men do Twisted Evil

Armrests are an extension surface for my mouse hand. And I use them to lean on when watching videos.
How one could go without armrests is beyond me, that's hardcore masochism bro

True story.

Only hipsters use desk chairs without armrests.

@difm
I have both (large desk + armrest chair). Cool Face
Still prefer both.

Sometimes i just lay back and watch or read something. Then armrests are very nice.
But most of the time i lay my arms on the desk.

I recently bought myself an Ikea Markus after years spent with a disgusting anti-ergonomic office chair with no optionals whatsoever, and I'm absolutely loving the robust armrests. Feels like a king men Very Happy

OK I reinstalled armrests on Markus. Could not deal without it.
I will buy some cheap seatbelt padding (yep) and put on there too to add some softness.

Yes, I do use chair with armrest as it gives comfort. Last year I got a new chair for office High back Mesh Chair. My friend suggested me to get it from online site for the best deals because they give some discount and all in all what I liked about them was they even have used chair for sale. I got myself one. Very Happy

It's such a win with this. I can tweak those armrests like crazy, they go up and down, tilt left or right, back and forth and also in and out.

that looks nice, but I don't get it, it's a racing seat with wheels, if you actually use it for racing games you can't use pedals properly... Philosopheraptor
