I have a 120GB SSD as main drive. Selecting all files and folders in the root of C: and checking the size via the properties shows the same amount of used space as spacesniffer does.

Yet somehow 60GB of my drive seem to be missing:

I used spacesniffer to find the big files taking up lots of space but I can only find everything that is there in the first pic. It shows 60GB of inaccessible space. What is that and how can I look into that portion of the SSD? Is that dead space marked as inaccessible by the SSD controller? Is the drive dying?

Ugh apparently after enabling looking for alternative data streams I was able to find some stuff on C: ... this might be my Forza 3 installation? Is there any way to move Windows Store applications?

edit: I see you already found the culrpit.

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

On another note, I can only recommend this to anyone here, great program, great visibility for big files. Been using it for ages now.

C:\Program Files\WindowsApps.

http://www.askvg.com/guide-how-to-take-ownership-permission-of-a-registry-key-in-windows/

I just use that to take ownership of the folder so I can check it easier, registry data for a context menu easily removed if needed and it's latest updates prevents taking ownership of Program Files, ProgramData, User and Windows to avoid bugs but subfolders work. Smile
(And is preferred, works just fine to take ownership of the apps folder since you can't open it via normal means otherwise.)

Win10 store can move apps now too without fully uninstalling and re-installing them I believe, config files and such might not survive though, don't know if they've fixed that.
(You get all kinds of folders and subfolders if you move it to a separate drive for example but they can be opened without "hacking up" the ownership status, bit of a struggle there if the PC user or Microsoft has access to the files, strange fucking decision really.)
