I'm considering upgrading to a larger size, as I only have 500gb. I've read that after 4.50 update, we can link an external hdd with no major hassle.

What do you guys think, internal 1TB SSD or SSHD or an external device?

If that's true, I'd just get a PS4 Slim 500gb myself since they ask €50 for an extra 500GB which is ridiculous. €50 gets me a 1TB external WD hard drive - €80 gets me a 2TB one.

I originally bought a cheap PS3 Slim with 12GB storage a few years ago, right before the PS4 was released - the 500GB version was almost €300, the 160GB version was €160. I paid €40 for a WD 500GB hard drive and ended up having the same console for €100 less and with a good brand of HD inside.

How do you "teach" the console to install on external drive, it's an option that is available once you connect it?

I forgot - I got a 3TB WD Book. So yeah, sounds like I'll go Slim.

Sounds like external is the way.

But is it fast enough, do the games run smooth?
