Hi there, I am looking for new laptop, not something crazy or too much high end but at least 960m as graphics card if not something similar...

Any recommendation? thanks

In ex-YU languages, "lep top" means "pretty cannon" so it makes it extra weird whenever JackQ mentiones laptop.

I would just look on like Amazon.com, apply some search filters and look at the best rated ones:

Got my XPS 15 (for work) Kaby Lake edition with GTX 1050 Ti, 512GB M.2 SSD and 4K display. Amazing laptop apart from stupid web cam's position, poor sound chip and pretty poor dock station connector.

If it is the i7-7700HQ with GTX 1050Ti, then its pretty good hardware wise. Looks like shit and build quality is not the best :/.

Ok, I think I am going on the Asus ZenBook Pro UX501VW-FJ238T

a bit weaker then the Omen 15 but stronger in other factors.. from what I gathered, It's the closest thing to dell xps 15 which is just too expansive.

Yeah I had the same problem a few months ago. I thought my old ASUS ROQ gaming laptop was broken (or at least the charging port) so I started to look for a sub-€1500 laptop to replace it with and I found pretty much fuck all that was decent.

The moment you want an SSD and a gaming card, you pay €1600+ which is ridiculous considering an SSD is cheap as chips (€120 for a 512GB one) and it seems they bundle a ton of useless crap with gaming laptops that only increases the price.

Also, I wish you could buy these without Windows pre-installed. They charge €100 at least extra for Windows when I got spare Windows 8.1 keys.

In the end, you're better off with a mini-PC if you want something movable without needing to take it with you to classes. You got mini-PC's you can attach to the back of a monitor using VESA mounts making it just as portable but also a lot cheaper and more versatile. For the price of a laptop, you got a much more powerful system that barely takes up more space.

Do be aware the Zenbook Pro UX501VW uses a PenTile (RG/BW) not-true-4K display. The RGB in each pixel is replaced with either only RG or only BW. This means you get all the risk for content scaling issues on 4K, without the full sharpness of 4K to "make up for it". ASUS does this on just about all of their current high-res offerings, and it's commonly regarded to be deceptive marketing. See the sidebar on http://reddit.com/r/SuggestALaptop/ for more info.

The same goes for the 4K display option on the HP Omen 15 -- though on the Omen 17 the 4K option is the real deal.

If you're in it for the 4K, check out the laptops I listed in this post. These use true 4K displays. https://www.reddit.com/r/videography/comments/657o1r/can_you_beat_this_juiced_up_laptop_asus_zenbook/dg86fn9/

The Dell Inspiron 7567 4K model is a fantastic true-4K display.

The FHD models use a low quality TN panel though, in most regions, except for the USA where they added an IPS option recently. You can replace the screen yourself if you want, though.

Thanks for the info

Ok,looks like there is some development:

I can now buy the
Dell XPS 15 Touch Screen Laptop XPS15-7818

At affordable price range, but I see there is the Dell XPS 15 9560 XPS15-7204 which is signify higher at price..

But the space looking pretty much the same.. I've connected the store that sells both and they said there is not much of a different between the two.. could someone confirm this?

Both the 9560 and XPS15-7818 models have 7700hq 1050,16 GB ram and 512 SSD.

I am now heavily considering to go for the Dell XPS 15 Touch Screen Laptop XPS15-7818
instead of the Dell Inspiron 7567 IN-RD33-10012

Wow,I am fucking unlucky today Sad

I managed to order the XPS 15 with 32 GB ram and TB SSD at VERY good price..

However,It turned out that the store I ordered from ran out of these laptops and they can't get more from their provider...

They at least cancelled that order and fully refund me.

I guess it will be a while until I will manage to order these laptops with a good deal.
