Firefox for now, UBlock Origin add-on mostly but I'm familiar with the browser by now and it's working pretty well (Beta, 52 currently which just became the new stable release so 53 should hit beta shortly, going by Aurora/Dev notes it has some interesting changes.)
For simplicity the home PC the parents use is using Chrome (Also beta since I like tinkering with stuff I shouldn't ) which is also working really well but it has a number of services and in-depth editing is very restricted.
But it's easy to set up and updated very frequently plus it has extensions too so no more cleaning out crapware or well the amount of crapware to clean has lessened a lot thanks to stuff like pop-up blockers and script stoppers. (NoScript for example for Firefox.)
EDIT: Hardware acceleration off on Firefox, it's not always stable (v53 might change that.) and well if the GPU crashes from some other tinkering or just a bug it doesn't bring the browser down with it.
(It still brings down some other software though mostly gaming clients such as EA Origin or Steam or UPlay since they can't be fully removed from GPU acceleration even if it can be reduced a bit, Origin in particular is terrible with driver crashes.)
EDIT: Not that driver crashes are all that common but I do like tinkering with stuff I shouldn't so testing overclocking and the like kinda requires finding the limit between stable and unstable, usually without bringing down the entire OS but that doesn't quite work for some other software.
1150 Mhz, crashes? up voltage. still crashes? up voltage. stable? try other software, crashes? lower OC you know how it goes, don't burn the damn hardware out but try to get a bit over a 5% gain at least heh yeah as if that's happening easily with a factory overclocked "overclocks dream not really" AMD Fury but it's fast as is but it can be made faster.
Opposite works too for some really nice silicon samples where you can lower voltage down to almost 1.1v instead of 1.2v while retaining the stock overclock and keep the GPU stable but most can't go quite that far down and for overclocking you do need a bit extra voltage above 1050 - 1075mhz though it varies, silicone and all that.
EDIT: I heard good things about Edge as well but it's a app so eww.
(Well OK they're not terrible but I'm not really fond of the app system.)
(On that note MS really should fucking decide already on app settings or control panel, RS2 insider preview now and it's still using both even if MS is trying to hide the old control panel a bit but it's still important.)

Ah yes, UBlock Origin is the best ad-blocker ever! I always used it on Firefox, chrome and now opera.

Yeah a few years ago when I swapped from Explorer 11 (10?) it was primarily the flexible extensions that made me try Firefox first, UBlock Origin has helped a lot and it's very customizable too while being reasonably light on CPU and memory usage so that's a keeper.
They do support both Firefox whatever it's called and Chromium (Opera and of course Chrome.) plus they're transitioning over to Firefox Webextension gradually so that's good to see, should speed up development a bit too from my small understanding of this.
Some blockers and other limitations but it's getting there though I think you need the daily build version of the browser itself for full functionality currently whereas I'm on beta as a mix of stability and fast updates including new features, some bugs of course and each beta generally has 8 - 10 releases before it hits final but weekly updates aren't too bad.
(Monthly for stable version, every couple of days for aurora/dev and whenever a new build is released for the daily/nightly releases or what they're called.)
EDIT: Don't use too many extensions though as it slows the browser down a bit, memory usage also shoots up but it's not too bad, caches a lot of RAM though even if it's not currently actively used.
16GB RAM but even so seeing the browser take almost 2 GB is a bit funny even without that many tabs opened but eh Chrome has or at least had a similar design and both support x64 now for that and other reasons.
(RAM prices aren't bad though, next system might see 4x8GB for 32 GB or possibly 8x8GB for 64 GB depending on pricing, might as well use whatever that motherboards full channel support will be to it's utmost.)
But far as browser opinions go I'm positive to Firefox, it has it's downsides of course but that's true for all browsers but it's very open, customizable, good add-on support and even themes and such for skinning for those who want a more personalized experience or how to say, similarly why I don't like all the extra services and things Chrome uses I don't dislike the actual browser and it can probably be reined in a bit with some tweaking even without going for full third-party Chromium variants like Iron or what they're all named.
(Like Waterfox doing x64 before Mozilla did it themselves with Firefox.)

Still on palemoon.
Had some issues but a big update ~2 months ago pretty much fixed all the crashes that I was having.
Only issues so far are likely not related to it, but with fucking flash

Does Vivaldi still have the issue where dragging tabs to a new window is super slow and clunky?

I've been alternating the Foxy Lady and Chrome, depending on the mood since they're both fine for my uber basic needs. My connection sucks so much that I wouldn't notice slowdowns anyway xD. Using uBlock Origin as well, with Magic Actions and a few minor extensions, nothing fancy but they do their dirty job.

Wrong. Very wrong. Opera uses the same engine that Chrome uses. It's not based on Chrome. They are based on Blink. If you don't like Opera, why not try vivaldi?
