I thought this was just an issue with my old PC but it seems to occur on my new one too

If I turn the PC on with the joystick plugged in, then maybe 1 in 10 times it will actually boot properly. If it's not plugged in it boots up properly 100% of the time.

What the hell is its problem? Is it trying to boot from some preinstalled shit located on the joystick somewhere? I don't get it.

Had similar stuff happening to me with USB3 stick couple of years ago that computer would not post, just turned on and looked like hanged until i took the stick out. Took me like a year to finally understand what was the problem(since it was only stick i didn't really actively search for solution).

Anyway the problem with my stick was that the asus motherboard usb xHCI setting was by default some asus own "smart auto", after i changed it to just enable it fixed it instantly. Before that the PC would not post, if it was connected to the front usb(2.0) ports and some of the back ones too.
